Survivor: Amazon Rocket Scientist Dave Johnson to 'Launch' New Survivor Party Game by going Head-to-Head with Fans at Barnes & Noble

NEW YORK, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ - He survived for 24 days in the Amazon rainforest, but can he outwit, outplay and outlast his fans in the urban jungle? That's what Barnes & Noble customers will find out when celebrity castaway Dave Johnson competes in challenges from the all-new Survivor party game on Thursday, November 6 at Rockefeller Center, New York. A rocket scientist from Pasadena California, Johnson will also officially unveil Survivor: The Game to the public, meet his fans and sign autographs between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m., CBS Consumer Products and Rumba Games announced today.

Subtitled 'Reality for your Living Room,'Survivor: The Game allows family and friends to form tribes and compete in randomly drawn immunity challenges. Players aged eight and up strive to win challenges, or risk getting voted off the couch, until only one 'Survivor' remains. Ideal for carrying on the excitement of the show between episodes or series, Survivor: The Game ($24.95) has already received accolades from previous Survivor castaways Kimmi Kappenberg and Jan Gentry, and magazines such as US Weekly prior to its official debut.
"No one will know beforehand which of the 250 challenges from the game they'll be called upon to perform. The event promises to hold lots of fun and surprises," says Rumba President Jean-Paul Teskey.
Dubbed "the hottest contestant so far of all the Survivor shows," by one online fan, and "the best player out there," by another, Johnson recorded one of the highest popularity ratings of all the castaways on Survivor: The Amazon, at 71%. Johnson, who cites body surfing and rock climbing among his interests, lasted until the eighth episode, securing him a position on the jury. Coincidentally, the event is being held the same day as the airing of the eighth installment of Survivor: Pearl Islands.
Now in its seventh series, Survivor remains one of television's most-watched programs and is ranked the number one reality show, with over 20 million viewers tuning in for each episode of Survivor: Pearl Islands.
