This was the first year our family actually took a look at the application. While we were watching the Macy's Day Parade my dad sayed,"Hey. Let's see if we can get me on the show." So, we filled out the form and we're going to make the video of once we get a battery for the camera. I really think he can make it too. They've never had anybody from this area, and they've never had anybody like him. If anybody here has made a video and sent it in, please do you have any suggestions?

Jeff Probst said in an interview last season that what they looked for in a video tape was not rediculous stunts but that they really wanted to see who you were, what your personality was like.  If you come across as having a great personality and interesting they will be interested in you.

I do have a couple of suggestions and the first one would be:  you and your dad need to do some homework: Carl Bilancione from S3 Africa is from Florida and Jessie Camacho (S3) was also.  Gina Crews, S4 Marquesas is yet another Floridian as was Jan Gentry S5 Thailand.

3. What are the guidelines for my videotape?

The videotape must be VHS (No mini-DV's, 8mm or VHS C). To transfer the other formats to VHS, simply connect your camera to your VCR and record. All videotapes must be a MAXIMUM of three minutes long. Talk about yourself, talk about your family, talk about your job, talk about why you would be the ultimate Survivor. Use this video to show us what's special about you. Make sure you label your tape with your name and city number (as set forth in section e. of the Contestant Application).

7. What type of contestant are you looking for?

There is no one type of contestant who will be chosen. We are looking for a wide variety of people who will bring energy and excitement to the contest. All contestants must meet the guidelines and have the traits specified in the Contestant Application and the Eligibility Rules sections of this website.

Contestants will be selected based upon having the following traits:
· Strong-willed
· Outgoing
· Adventurous
· Physically and mentally adept
· Adaptable to new environments
· Interesting lifestyles, backgrounds and personalities

Anymore questions, dude?  How exciting that we may have someone's family member make it on Survivor.

I suggest that your dad do a lot of reading and re-reading of all those sites I mentioned.   Has he in the past watched many of the episodes?  Does he understand the premise of this competition?  Just a couple of questions back atcha for you and your dad!  Wink
