...a Survivor season take place in the mountains.  In the Appalachians, it would be do-able.  They could find a place with a mountain stream in wooded area.  The contestants' attire would have to be different and their shelter-building strategies would have to change slightly but I really think it would be an interesting change.  Of course, it would almost have to take place in the summer so that edible plants and such would be available.  As for meat, I guess they'd have to kill squirrels, rabbits, and possums.  We do have deer in these parts but it would be almost impossible to get a deer without the proper equipment.

Where would YOU like to see a new season of Survivor take place?

The mountain idea is a good change, I agree. The past few Survivor settings have been very stale. The only difference are the people...

That's right send them to Afghanistan.  Those Survivor women could definitely smoke Bin Laden out of his hole!

I really agree with the mountain idea, that would be pretty sweet.  It would be cool to see them really change the climate and try a cold place but then again they would have to be dressed for the cold.

I would love to see a survivor for just the contestants that were say 45-50 years and older...
The appalachian idea would be good...

And Tom will come rolling out in a hospital bed to sing a wicked witch song to Susan.

Shamon, we could TOTALLY be moles for an Appalachian Survivor.  Also, can you imagine the challenges?

Run from the Hungry Bear (for immunity, of course)
Eating Ant-Covered Blackberries
Relay Swimming in the Icy Cold Stream
Grab the Rattlesnake...and Grill Him
Outscream the Cicadas
Endurance Challenge: Stand under a waterfall on one foot while listening to Dolly Parton sing
Tick Pluck: Who Can Pluck the Most Ticks Off a Team Member? (bonus points for engorged ticks)

Cool Cool Cool Cool

I love them all!

My sister and I came up with the ultimate reality tv show situation the other night (over a few bottles of red and some pasta) - they seems to be getting more extreme with 'fear factor' and such. Why not put 50 people in a light aircraft and actually crash it into the mountains - see what happens. Will they find any wildlife to eat or do they have to  pick which one of them to eat next? Lord of the Flies in reality tv.

Don't tell me how sad we are - we're fully aware thanks.

I'd like to see it placed on an island off the coast of Maine. They do survival trainings and outward bound training there and there are many islands that could be used that have no people living on them. They would have the usual ocean swimming, forests full of firewood and driftwood for fires and shelter building, plenty of seafood at their door, lobsters, clams, crab and mussels, as well as other deep sea fish. Plus no dangerous insects or snakes to worry about, and a bit colder climate even in the summer to deal with, it would need to be filmed in the summer of course. Also animals such as squirrel and deer are on some islands and lots of berries in late summer. Apples, blueberries, and edible seaweed.
