Women Only Thread

Having titled this the "Women Only" thread, I'm sure a lot of guys will have a peek.  Roll Eyes  Well, you've been warned, men!

I have always wondered how the women of Survivor cope with their cycles.  (I don't mean bicycles.)  I know that birth control is now available that will allow a cycle to occur only four times a year and I also know that if you skip the last row of traditional birth control pills and start on a new pack, you can delay a cycle.

Having said that, however, are the castaways allowed to bring medication with them to take daily?  What if a woman is wearing a patch and it falls off?

What if, worst case scenario, a woman came unprepared and has to deal with her "friend" during the game?  I'm imagining that there is a CBS representative who talks with the women contestants before they go out on the field.

It's one thing for men to go on Survivor but I have a lot of respect and admiration for pre-menopausal women who compete.

Now being a man I would have never thought of that but I am sure they allow them to bring pads or Tampons. I wonder how many times we saw an "ill" contestant (woman) that it was really cramps or some other monthly occureance. that was a good thought how clever or you to think of it. Perhaps another member can shed some light on that

David!! :laff:  You peeked!

It's fine for men to comment on this, too.  It's just a delicate subject and I didn't want to embarrass anyone.  Still, it is something I've wondered...

You've said it well.  After all the times I've been in the hospital, having surgery and this last time, a catherization, little embarrasses me!  Intimidated by doctors?  HA, not me!

As to your question, I've also thought about the same thing.  No doubt they have this worked out quite well.

By the time Survivor ends, no doubt there is no modesty left with any of them Roll Eyes

The emergency kit contains a supply of tampons.  Rodger of Survivor Outback actually made toilet paper by unravelling them!

And the very first words spoken by Lindsey of Survivor Africa were "I just started my period.  No wonder I have cramps!"

Thanks for that about the medical kit Darrell.  And I had forgotten about Lindsey.

I never had any doubts that the producers would take this into consideration and supply the necessary products.

They should also provide vitamins.  Going without food as they do could prevent serious health problems for life.
