Ex-'Survivor' Faces DUI Charge
(Friday, September 02 03:21 PM)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Katie Gallagher, the runner-up in the most recent edition of "Survivor," was arrested early Thursday on a charge of driving under the influence.
The 30-year-old Gallagher, who finished second to New York firefighter Tom Westman on "Survivor: Palau" earlier this year, was stopped in her hometown of Merced, Calif., about 2 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 1). She was charged with DUI.

The advertising exec was detained for the rest of the night at the Merced County Sheriff's Department before being released Thursday morning. A sheriff's spokesman tells the Fresno Bee that his department is required to hold DUI suspects until they sober up.

There's no word on a court date yet.
Gallagher was a member of the dominant Koror tribe on "Survivor: Palau," using her political skills to stay alive until the final episode despite not contributing a lot to her team in physical challenges. In the end, her scheming didn't do her much good, and the jury overwhelmingly voted to give Westman the $1 million top prize.

She did, however, walk away with about $100,000 for her second-place finish.
