Most Influential Women of 2007
Elisabeth Hasselbeck
She champions creationism and the war in Iraq. She's an outspoken critic of not only abortion but the morning-after pill. Barry Manilow won't appear on stage with her. Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell have heated arguments with her. She's Elisabeth Hasselbeck, conservative co-host of the wildly popular show The View. Many feel that she's a welcome representative of the Red State women who are so seldom heard in mainstream media. And then there are those who'd like to stuff a sock in her mouth. Love her or hate her, there's no denying that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a voice to be reckoned with.

I don't agree with her views, but she was one of my favorite Survivors ever and will continue to be.
She is such a nice person, the fact that people won't go on stage with her because of some things she thinks disgusts me!

Was Elisabeth popular before her appearance on Survivor, or did her talk show career started after Survivor Outback?

I am pretty sure it started after Survivor: Outback. (She was invited on the original All Stars, you know, but declined.Random LOL) I am pretty sure Neleh was as well but she declined, they were two of my favorite survivors.
They both declined because they didn't want to wear smaller bathing suits I heard  Roll Eyes, and hence Amber got invited.

Elisabeth declined because she wanted to focus on her carrer on "the View".  I never knew Neleh was invited, the two of them were my two favorite castaways prior to All Stars.

I love Elisabeth, though I don't agree with 100% of her things, I agree with like, maybe 90%.  Cheesy

Jake--When it comes to Survivor, I tend to have female favorites, too. Wink Mostly.

I adore Elisabeth... But I wonder how long she'll stay on the View because they moved to Arizona because Tim got transferred to the football team there. I like her conservative views and that she won't back down, but sometimes I think she should chill because emotion takes over cognition.

jvjkj- Elisabeth declined because it was around the time when she was starting on the View and it would have conflicted with that. Personally I'm kind of glad she didn't go back, I found there too many Aussies. I know Aussie was the best season, but i don't know there was 1 from Thailand (which was fine for me cuz I hated that season), 1 from pearl islands, 2 from amazon, 2 from marqueas, and 5 from Australia

She'll be all right.  Most wives don't see their husbands during the football season anyways.  Cheesy

LOL!!

Yeah, I think you're right Amber.

I do remember hearing something about the bathing suit issue, though.

But wasn't Amber a replacement because Elisabeth declined? I wonder who would have won All-Stars.

I'm glad her career has picked up after her stint on Survivor. (I'm talking about Elisabeth, not Amber lol). (I haven't watched her season to be honest but I am planning on watching it soon).
