Nike is hard at it again, adding another brand new Air Max 98 to their already impressive collection.
This latest iteration mixes Nike’s always very popular Wolf Grey colorway on the seismic upper with a visually striking Total Crimson color Adidas ZX Flux Femmecovering the tongue and laces and highlighted throughout the shoe. The dark grey rubber outsole finishes things off and makes the rest of the shoe really pop.
The multi-leveled wave aesthetic and full-length visible Air unit is still the same as it was 20 years ago, only now Nike has updated it and started releasing it in a very successful variety of new colorways.
The Nike Air Max 98 is once again back in the spotlight as Nike has bean to release several old and new iterations of the model. Being that the Adidas Superstar Hombre Blancas model is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary, expect that to be the case all year long. Next up, this new Sail, White, and Sepia Stone color scheme of the mode topped off with the snakeskin mudguard overlays. What you end up getting is a fairly tonal suede and mesh finish of the model with a premium luxe feel thanks in large part of Adidas Superstar Femme the snakeskin hits on the overlays. A clean White rubber sole with the shoes signature Air Max unit take care of the lower portion of the model.

While the 98 model is certainly not as storied as the recognized “flagship” models like the Air Max 97, fans of the bubble remember the shoe fondly – and the mainstream is just now jumping on the bandwagon. Nike’s Air Max 98 silhouette is understandably enjoying a busy 2018 campaign, as the sneaker is celebrating its 20th anniversary. This Saturday, the wildest of the multiple varieties will arrive on the Adidas Stan Smith Womens Nike SNKRS app by way of the “Cone” color scheme. Utilizing the vast possibilities of the 98s color blocking, the Swoosh dresses it up in a loud mixture if orange, blue, and purple. Sticking to that same boisterous aesthetic, the next drop for the 98 will be the “Kinetic Green” colorway that you see here. Featuring that hue, Obsidian,Adidas NMD Womens and touches of highlighter pink, its primarily Pure Platinum upper is the only thing standing in its way from being as eccentric as the aforementioned “Cone”.
Designed by Sergio Lozano, the same man responsible for the Air Max 95, the 98 was touted as the best Nike running shoe available at the time, but later faded into obscurity. After Supreme’s take on the 98 from 2016, the silhouette has been slowly but steadily making a comeback.
