Adidas has unveiled its latest UltraBOOST and UltraBOOST X running shoes, which the sports giant claims "push the boundaries" of running technology to provide the "ultimate running experience". Engineered for better movement, precision and fit, the fresh trainers' design is based on previous models, such as ventilation holes Adidas Superstar Damen of the original UltraBOOST (which return across the foot’s key sweat zones of the cage and forefoot) combined with a newly developed PrimeKnit composition. This apparently refers to a reduced stretch design so runners will experience a better fit and additional support. The new UltraBOOST design also features a high-tech Fit Counter which is integrated into the heel of the shoe to enable free movement of the Achilles tendon, providing runners with improved adaptability, cushioning and energy return, Adidas said. Adidas' other new shoe, the Adidas Gazelle Femme UltraBOOST X, is aimed at women and inspired by Adidas' UltraBOOST Uncaged product as well as the adizero Sub2 running silhouette, in which the cage and support features have moved to the inside to give the shoe a sleeker aesthetic. "Fusing this aesthetic with modern, female-specific design Adidas ZX Flux Donna features, including the Adaptive Arch, which permits the PrimeKnit Upper to mold to any foot whilst moving in sync with the wearer’s running style, the UltraBOOST X guarantees style and function," Adidas explained. "The integration of a purposely sculpted BOOST midsole compliments the Adaptive Arch design, allowing the elements to work together to provide enhanced support and cushioning." The UltraBOOST is available in two different colors for men and women. The UltraBOOST X is available in grey and comes with a blue heel counter. Since its Nike Internationalist Femme initial introduction way back in the late ‘40s, adidas has helped restructure athletic apparel transcending the business of sportswear to levels few others can lay claim to, be it in any industry. With a monumental showing just this past year, including having been named Sports Business of the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Womens Year by Yahoo Finance, its steady rise to the top though, has been one met with strenuous struggle. Although the brand boasts a stream of timeless staples which continue to impact the current state of sneaker culture — think such silhouettes as the Superstar, Stan Smith and Rod Laver — many would agree that the activewear titan were slow to stumble out of the tech innovation gate. Sitting sideline to Nike Air’s dominant run throughout much of the ‘90s, adidas and rivals alike struggled to compete with the then ultra-modern breakthrough. With Nike Roshe Run Womens direct references to the soaring popularity of the Air Max and Air Jordan models respectively, its ingenious air-centric midsole cushioning, as if single-handedly, reshaped the footwear performance market forever and for the better. With that said, adidas eventually fired back with its very Nike Air Max 2017 Femme own state-of-the-art system. Though considered late to the party, the German apparel maker eventually showed face immediately making its presence felt — in a monumental game-changing kind of way. Enter BOOST technology.
