The Nike Huarache almost never existed. The shoe, made from a stocking boot in a support exoskeleton, was Adidas Gazelle Mujer definitely unusual when Nike started showing the prototypes in the early 1990s. Virtually no one gave orders, and Nike seemed to have little choice but to kill the idea.
For Nike's luck, a product manager did not listen.
Nike Tinker Hatfield design legend Adidas Superstar Hombre Blancas tells of Huarache's unlikely success story in the new book Sneakers, a comprehensive research on tennis culture compiled by journalists Howie Kahn and Alex French and designer Rodrigo Corral. The book is based on interviews with more than 50 industry figures. Hatfield, who created iconic shoes like Air Max, several of Jordan's biggest franchise hits, and - yes - Huarache says in the book that Huarache has become the biggest seller Nike Internationalist Dame of Nike in the world.

The idea of ??the shoe came to Hatfield while he was practicing water skiing. The neoprene boots he wore fit the foot and looked stable. He went back to his Nike Roshe Run Damen studio and drew a shoe made of a booge covered by an exoskeleton.

It has grown in popularity in the US since at least the beginning of 2015, as writer Cam Wolf has detailed in GQ.
