The morning after.....

The headlines in the morning papers are incredible.  Bush targets Saddam:  War opens with surgical strike aimed at Iraq's leaders....Commanders open war in surprisingly small way....Iraqi leader defiant on TV as missiles rock Baghdad.

Last night while waiting and waiting for the President to speak his words of what we knew was inevitable, I surfed from Survivor to AI to CNN and back again.  At one point while at CNN, a reporter was trying his best to give the latest happenings - there was a camera aimed at the city and beyond.  Points of light (tracers) could be seen as well as the flashes on the horizon as bombs met their targets.

Then it dawned on me as my eyes widened and this old heart skipped more than a few beats.  "It" had begun.  It was a scant few minutes later when our President appeared - looking so much older and drawn,  than 48 hours prior.

Now it's the morning after and I was wondering how everyone else fared last night - and how you're feeling about these events.  Personally, I feel as though one of those tanks ran me over but I'm also relieved the action has begun - if that was to be and apparently, it was.

"Senility Prayer"...God grant me...
The senility to forget the people I never liked
The good fortune to run into the ones that I do
And the eyesight to tell the difference."

Our voices are heard each time we vote! You can also write or email your State's representives Senators and Congressmen. So if you feel your voice wasnt heard and you voted and/or contacted those who represent you in Washington your wrong!
