Born: Barry Eugene Carter, September 12, 1944, Galveston, Texas
 
Family: Divorced twice, eight children
 
Career: 106 gold and 41 platinum albums; 20 gold and ten platinum singles; worldwide sales in excess of $100 million
 
Grammy awards: Best Male R&B Vocal Performance, Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for album and single, Staying Power, 1999  
 
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Velvet-voiced R&B crooner Barry White, renowned for his lush baritone and carnal lyrics that oozed sex appeal on songs such as "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe," died Friday morning, his manager said.  
 
White, who had suffered kidney failure from years of high blood pressure, died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center around 9:30 a.m., said manager Ned Shankman. He was 58.  
 
White had been undergoing dialysis treatment and had been hospitalized since last September.

I didn't even realize he had been hospitalized since last September!  They really kept that quiet, didn't they?

Yes it was I too didnt know he was sick heck i think one of my kids was concieved during one of his songs!

On "The Baby Story" last year, one of Barry White's daughters was the featured new mom.  He seemed subdued in his appearance on what should have been exciting for him.   It must have been the time shortly before his hospitalization.
 
You will be missed Barry, but never forgotten!   Sad

WHAT SAD NEWS !  IF WE STILL HAD BABY MAKING PLUMBING, WE WOULD HAVE ONE FOR EACH YEAR SINCE WE'VE BEEN MARRIED (19 WOULD SURELY BE TOO MANY!)   WE LOVE HIS MUSIC.  SO HAPPY WE HAVE HIS CD'S AND SHALL TREASURE HIS MUSIC FOREVER!
 
BARRY, THE WORLD ALREADY MISSES YOU SO MUCH BUT YOUR MUSIC WILL LIVE FOREVER!
