Letterman to Be a Father
(Friday, September 12 10:26 AM)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - David Letterman will soon be Daddy Letterman.

To huge cheers from the audience, the host of CBS' "Late Show" announced during the Thursday taping of Friday's (Sept. 12) show that his long-time girlfriend, Regina Lasko, is pregnant.

He joked that Lasko, a former "Late Show" staffer, is getting fairly big as the pregnancy progresses, remarking that "there's some tunnels we can't get through anymore," according to the New York Daily News. Commenting on his own age, the 56-year-old Letterman also says he'll get to be both a father and grandfather to the child.

Letterman also assured Lasko's parents that a wedding was in the planning stages.

If the marriage goes through, it would be the second for Letterman. He was married to college sweetheart Michelle Cook for seven years.

Guest Cuba Gooding Jr., the father of two young boys, offered Letterman a cigar and the following words of warning: "Life is over as you know it."

I LOVE david letterman, of course the past couple times I saw him he was not as humorous as he used to be, but he does still make me laugh
