Wallace Bolts ABC News for Fox
(Tuesday, October 28 04:58 PM)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - With his contract at ABC News set to expire, Chris Wallace is heading for the fair and balanced cable climes of Fox News Channel. The son of the legendary "60 Minutes" anchor will join FNC on Sunday, Nov. 16 as the host of "Fox News Sunday."
Wallace has been in broadcasting for nearly three decades. He has been at ABC news since 1989, a gig he took after a variety of duties at NBC, where he spent seven years as a White House correspondent. At ABC his duties included interviewing world leaders and periodically filling in for Ted Koppel on "Nightline."

At FNC, Wallace will replace Tony Snow, who is leaving "Fox News Sunday" do host a Fox-affiliated radio show. Wallace will also have the chance to participate in FNC's coverage of the 2004 election, from the primary season on.

"The was an energy and excitement about Fox that intrigues me," Wallace tells The Hollywood Reporter. "In an era of so-called decline in the news business, you don't hear any talk about that at FOX."

Wallace also remains convinced that accusations about Fox News' conservative bias won't change his role as a journalist.

"If [Fox News chairman Roger Ailes] and Fox News wanted someone to push a particular agenda, they wouldn't have hired me," Wallace says. "I am what I am. I am a straight newsman."
