Britney Spears Marries

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- Pop star Britney Spears has marched down the aisle in Las Vegas, marrying a childhood friend from Louisiana, according to news reports.
 
The 22-year-old diva married Jason Allen Alexander early Saturday at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip, according to People.com, the online arm of the Time Warner publication. He is from Kentwood, Louisiana, it said.
 
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported on its Web site that Spears, 22, and Alexander, 22, were granted a marriage license, citing an affidavit of Application for Marriage License filed January 3.
 
A photo of the signed marriage license was obtained by The Associated Press.
 
Calls to Spears' representatives were not immediately returned.
 
The bride wore jeans and a baseball cap, according to People.com, and had a hotel bellman walk her down the aisle.
 
People.com reported that Spears and Alexander journeyed to the Little White Wedding Chapel after a stop at the Ghostbar, a club in the Palms Casino Hotel.
 
It reported that the chapel staff told the couple that they couldn't get married without a license, so they were reportedly taken by the limo to the Clark County Marriage Bureau office in the downtown Las Vegas courthouse.
 
They applied for and were granted the marriage license, then were driven back to the chapel, where they were married.
 
Spears released her fourth album "In the Zone" in November. It debuted at the top of the album charts. She begins a concert tour March 2 in San Diego.

I am still trying to figure out WHY this is NEWS! Maybe its just me but I care less than nothing about Britney other than eye candy she doesnt do much for me nor does her music but then she is quite popular but I still fail to see the NEWS in this

david, it's because we are a little "older".   I too could care less what Britney does but then again, I'm not a teenybopper anymore.  As far as I'm concerned, this gives new meaning to the term "I got drunk and did WHAT?"  Grin

OLDER! hmmm and that means? :yikes: :laff: Seriously though those of us who are "OLDER" recall when News was NEWS not gossip! which is really what this is. Sometimes the line between The National Enquirer and News is hard to see!

Oh but of course, Eric.  This is an old gimmick to draw extra attention to upcoming albums/concerts.  It drew my attention, all right - I wouldn't give my $'s to buy into that  Lips Sealed .....uhh.....stuff.
 
Somehow, I have a feeling BS will be disappearing in...oh say...in about one year.  She'll go away and come back after she re-invents herself.....and so on....and so on.  :laff:
