Shocking Revelations in the Jackson Case

January 29, 2004
Tonight on ET, we have shocking information from Vanity Fair's investigative report on the MICHAEL JACKSON case. From details about Jackson's young accuser and his private moments with the pop star to surprising reports from Jackson's former business advisor -- get ready for a bombshell!

"I've been covering Michael Jackson and his travails with little kids since 1993, and I was struck by the similarities between this case and the case 10 years ago with [the minor who previously accused Jackson of molestation and settled out of court], so there's not too much that surprises me at this point," VF special correspondent MAUREEN ORTH tells our own JANN CARL.

In the startling, 10,000-word article, on stands February 10, incredible details about Jackson are revealed. Orth alleges that on a flight from Florida in February 2003, Jackson gave the now-14-year-old minor wine hidden in Coke cans. Orth says that Jackson refers to white wine as "Jesus juice" and red wine as "Jesus blood" and drinks them from soda cans so people around him won't know he's consuming alcohol.

"[Actor] CHRIS TUCKER brought [the minor and his] family on a private jet to Michael Jackson in Florida right about the time the MARTIN BASHIR documentary was airing," explains Orth. "I surmise because they didn't want the family to see the documentary, and it was allegedly for a press conference that never took place. On the way back from Florida I was told the kids were drinking the 'Jesus juice' on the airplane right under the mother's nose and she had no idea."

When contacted, Chris Tucker's representative had no comment regarding this statement by ET's deadline.

Jackson's former business manager, MYUNG-HO LEE, allegedly told Orth that "only [Jackson's] inner people know" his nicknames for the wines, adding that it "tells you the boy spent 'quality time' with Michael." Orth reports that the boy and his siblings have said that "all the kids around Michael" knew about the Jesus juice and that the pop star told them, "Jesus drank it, so it must be good." Orth writes that Jackson allegedly gave alcohol and antihistamine pills to minors hidden in soda cans at least one other time, and Lee describes a similar incident that occurred in Japan in 1998 that involved a 13-year-old boy.

In the VF article, Orth says that Lee confides that Jackson was addicted to morphine and the drug Demerol and was put through detox in Seoul in 1999. DR. NEIL RATNER, an anesthesiologist and former rock drummer, was said to be employed by Lee to help Jackson through the ordeal. "We were getting Michael off what he was addicted to," says Lee. "His problem is a sleep disorder. He's up to 48 hours at a time, and then crashes."
