The Associated Press

Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts is pregnant with twins, according to magazine reports.

People magazine reported Monday night that Roberts' spokeswoman, Marcy Engelman, said the "Pretty Woman" star was due to give birth to twins early next year.

US Weekly said Roberts, 36, has been pregnant for about nine weeks with twins. Star magazine, citing unidentified sources, said the twins were a boy and a girl.

Roberts, who won the best actress Oscar in 2001 for "Erin Brockovich," married cinematographer Daniel Moder, 35, in July 2002 at her home in New Mexico.
The twins would be the first children for Roberts, who starred in 1990's "Pretty Woman."

Engelman told People magazine that twins run in Roberts' family, with her great-grandmother and a pair of cousins born as twins.

LL, why the Lemon & Lime names? Oh my, wouldn't that be horrible?

Somehow I'm thinking these twins may be planned twins, so she can do it one time and get one with her life. Also I could be wrong! Whatever she does is certainly OK with me, I love her and she is one beautiful, talented actress.

I was having a conversation with my sister over the weekend about what "stars" were "hot", etc...and it was amazing to me to learn of a woman's perspective on who were hot looking women/men compared to a male perspective!!! We rarely agreed on 1!!!

Julia is a perfect example.....she thought Julia is "gorgeous"....I give her "average" on a good day!!!

hmmm.... I was wondering... how would the anyone know if the twins is a boy and a girl if they are only 9 weeks old?... Isn't it that the fetus's gender would only be determined around the 4th or 5th month of pregnancy?... am I right?

It would be very easy for them to determine what genders they are at this stage, actually. They just need to have an amniocentesis (spelling?) done. That is where they stick a giant needle into the woman's uterus and take a sample of the amniotic fluid and then run a series of tests on it to determine if certain genetic defects or diseases are present. They can also determine the gender that way since it allows for accurate dna testing.
