Insurance Company Steal Woman's Car

Last Night (Friday) on a current affairs program there was a story on a woman who had not missed a single payment on the loan of her car. The Company where towing away her car with her bag and some clothes inside, the bag had - money, credit cards, bus passes, drivers licence and her work passes. Three days later when she found her car they were selling it at an auction house - It STILL had HER clothes and bag in it. Mind you of course all this was ILLEGAL. It took her 2 weeks to convince the company she had been up to date with all her payments evn though she had all the records proving that she had payed all of her due payments. She is now refusing to pay any more off her car until they company gives her a written apology. Because what they did was illegal and what caused this was a paper error. (She has legal protection a tax company is helping her.)
 
And there was also this man who had a bank loan ten years previously and he hadn't paid it off. The law states that NO DEBT CAN BE COLLECTED AFTER 6 YEARS. And the credit company had tried to get it back.
 
I seriously hope nothing like this happens in America or any other country.

I'm sure it happens (or similar) all the time in many countries.  Paperwork screwups and genuine scumbags looking to take advantage of people exist everywhere, unfortunately.
