Sheriff Joe has had the tents, chain gangs, etc. for a number of years now and I for one agree with him. Jail isn't supposed to be pleasant.

Yes, I know for we've seen the TV interview with him and saw the Tent City.  An email friend sent this article to me a few days ago.  I feel it is appropriate with all that goes on in our ever increasing criminal world.

All states should adopt this, instead of them being warm, fed 3 squares and educated.
Some who get out will commit a small crime to violate their probation, just to get back in, for they do not know what to do with themselves being out of prison.

I don't have any complaints about how this guy handles things.  If you don't want to do the time, don't commit the crime!  If more wardens handled things this way there might be less petty crimes committed and the jails could fill up with the people who really needed to be there.
