Jury Deliberates Again in Jackson Trial

By TIM MOLLOY, Associated Press Writer
2 hours, 28 minutes ago

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The jury resumed deliberations Tuesday in the child molestation case against pop star   Michael Jackson.

Sheriff's vans brought the eight women and four men of the jury to the courthouse, where Jackson fans and members of the news media waited in anticipation of a verdict.

The jury, which put in about two hours after getting the case Friday afternoon, completed its first full day of deliberation on Monday. The jury has followed the trial schedule of a six-hour day, including three 10-minute breaks but no lunch break.

Jackson, 46, is accused of molesting a 13-year-old cancer survivor in 2003, plying him with wine and conspiring to hold his family captive to get them to rebut a damaging TV documentary about the entertainer. If convicted on the molestation counts, Jackson could get several years in prison.

Jackson supporters on Monday held signs declaring "Only love. No crime. He's innocent. Leave him alone," "We shall overcome" and "Peter Pan rules." One woman was spotted with a sign showing Mohandas Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr. and Jackson.

Little more than an hour into Monday's session, jurors told the judge they had a question. The query and its resolution were not publicly disclosed, drawing a protest from news organizations.

Media pool coordinator Peter Shaplen said Judge Rodney S. Melville met with lawyers in his chambers to discuss the question and how it would be answered, but Melville did not plan to reveal to the public any details.

The procedure was considered unusual. Normally, questions from the jury are part of the public record since they are submitted in writing by the jury foreperson.

An attorney for news organizations including The Associated Press filed motions seeking a transcript of Monday's closed proceedings and immediate access to any questions from the jury and to any proceedings concerning those questions.

The singer's fans were outnumbered Monday by an international throng of reporters, photographers and TV crews anticipating any hint of development in the high-profile case.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson, no relation, showed up at the courthouse and said that Michael Jackson was emotionally strong despite a recurring back problem that sent him to an emergency room over the weekend.

Jackson expects to be acquitted "if the jury uses reasonable doubt," he said.

Oh, puh-LEEZ!  That really IS insulting.

I somehow don't think the jury will bust him on all the charges, but I think (and hope) he'll have to serve time because in my heart I really do feel that he's guilty, even if only for inappropriate behavior* and intoxicating minors.

*behavior like inviting the children to sleep in his bed, taking showers with boys, showing them pornographic material, etc.

Even if he had done NOTHING wrong, he is still not comparable to these men.

Agreed Rhune, these were some of the greatest men of the 20th century, they gave hope to millions of people.  They were famous for their strength through adversity, not infamous for their molestation of children.

Lets face it, had these molestation trials not come up in the last decade, MJ would have gone the way of the DoDo ala Debbie Gibson and Tiffany.  Off to obscurity.  Where he belongs

I've been watching the trial re enactments on "E" and the actor who plays MJ even gives me the creeps....he's even more unattractive than the real MJ....if that's at all possible!

One thing that the prosecuter said  was that MJ has never had a "real" relationship with any woman since his marriage breakup to Debbie Rowe....not that that was ever real.......but when you think about it apart from his 2 fake marriages he's never been known to have relationships with women!

I don't care who you are or how much you're worth it's just not natural for a man of his age to associate with young children......all the time! And they are always boys.......he never befriends girls.

If someone like that lived in my street I'd be calling the police asap!

I feel he will be aquitted but the damage to his career is already done!

Lisa Marie confessed on Oprah they consumated the marriage.
I could feel Elvis roll over in his grave all the way from Graceland to Texas Roll Eyes

The longer the jury stays out, the more chances Michael will NOT get off.
Usually when a jury comes back in qujckly, the verdict is NOT Guilty.

They should jus tput him under house arrest.  I'm saying this
becasue it is going to cost the State of California a lot of money
to protect him from other inmates, if this goes with guilty and prison term.

Jacko needs to thank Lisa Marie for not spilling the beans on what REALLY went on in their marriage.  The most she's allowed has been that "weird" stuff went on, but she wouldn't elaborate.

One of Jacko's brother's said that Jacko will likely live life as a recluse if he is found innocent of these charges.  What a pity, that.  After all the money he paid for years of horror-inflicting, attention-grabbing plastic surgery and skin lighteing.  Roll Eyes

I feel VERY sorry for his children.  They will never, ever be "normal" kids.

Lisa Marie was.  I think that Jacko still sticks loosely to his Jehovah's Witness roots.  Of course, I'm sure the JWs probably frown on giving alcohol to underaged objects of "affection."
