new hope for schapelle Corby

Schapelle Corby...the 27 year old beauty therapist from the Gold Coast Australia was sentenced to 20 years in a Bali Gaol last month after more than 4 kilograms of dope was found in her boogie board bag last october.
 
After her defense team lodged appeals and strong support from not only Australia but worldwide a new trail has been granted.
 
Now the bailinese court will in fact hear evidence from witnesses they refused to at the earlier trial.  
 
Baggage handlers at Sydney airport,customs officials and Australian Federal Police will give evidence about the drug smuggling going on within the baggage handlers of airports throughout the country.
 
Also the prisoner who has claimed to be the one whose drugs were placed in Corbys bag  will also be a witness...... he is currently serving a sentence for drug offences and was convicted AFTER corby was found with drugs.
 
The new trial is expected to begin within a month!
 
Thank goodness....finally some common sense has prevailed!

let's just hope the news remains good!
 
One of the judges who is set to be on the bench during the new trial has in fact previously aquitted accused drug traffickers due to supporting evidence so at this stage things look a whole lot better for Schapelle......we all believe that now she really will get the fair trial she should have had before!
 
I'll keep you posted!

The appeals are still going through the long drawn out process however the latest news reports are claiming that the court may reduce her sentence by half. We should know in a few days if it will still be 20 years or 10!
