GREEN TEA

HEALTH BENEFITS:
Many Chinese people have been drinking green tea for centuries for all the positive aspects that it brings to your health. This has spread to people worldwide and green tea is now the second most popular beverage in the world. Green tea is said to have many health benefits, including lowering your cholesterol, boosting your immune system and helping to prevent cavities and tooth decay.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS TEA AND OTHERS:
There are three types of tea Black, Oolong, and Green tea. The difference between the Green tea and the others is that green tea is not fermented, thus keeping in the powerful antioxidants lost in the fermenting process.

ANTI CANCER COMPOUND FOUND:
Researchers at the University of Murcia in Spain (UMU) and the John Innes Center (JIC) in Norwich, England have shown that a compound called EGCG in green tea prevents cancer cells from growing by binding to a specific enzyme. "We have shown for the first time that EGCG, which is present in green tea at relatively high concentrations, inhibits the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR), which is a recognized, established target for anti-cancer drugs, " Professor Roger Thorneley, of JIC, told Reuters.

HISTORY:
Made from the dried leaves of the camellia sinensis plant, Green tea came from China between 4,000- 5,000 years ago.

NOTE:
I started drinking Green Tea more than two years ago.  Not being a regular drinker, I've definitely increased it since last Spring.
I drank it about 3 times a day and did start seeing a difference in my mid-section, plus using the patches.

I've ordered the Green Tea patches also and believe this is the way to go, for you get the benefits of the tea if you don't have time to stop and have a cup!

Try it want have you got to loose?

Dr. Perrione says that if a person drinks green tea for
6 weeks and does nothing else, at least 10 lbs will be lost.

Ok, I"ll tell you in 4 weeks if it does or not!
I've been drinking green tea at least over two years but not consistently.  Now I'm drinking more of it and leaving off the coffee.  Flavored Green Tea tastes better also.
There are Green Tea patches and also capsules.

Antioxidents we all need for better health Cool

My daughter has been warned not to use green tea because of a medical condition and the meds she takes for it.  It might be worthwhile talking to a pharmacist before starting green tea.

I made a call to my pharmacistr a few minutes ago
and asked about this subject.  He knows every med I take.

Aside from what caffeine does to some, he told me there is nothing that will interfere or hurt me with the meds I take!

His word is good enough for me.
He also told me he drinks Green Tea also!

I have to pick up a prescription soon, and I'll ask mine.  If the answer is OK, then I'll try it.  Anyone have any recommendations about brands?

I use the Lipton Brand.  They come in a box of 20 bags...fits in my desk at work Grin

I am sure you can also buy it in the plastic bottle (concentrate).

Calling your pharmacist to check for medicine reactions is a smart way to handle that aspect of it.  Good for you, ladies!

Rhune, I check out ever prescribed med
before it goes down the hatch on me!

As ide from the caffeine in it making some jittery,
the pharmacist says it is loaded with anti-oxidants
and will only help one's body!
Mine is in desperation! Undecided  [ a joke here, ladies! Grin]
