Danish royals welcome new baby prince.

On Saturday 15th October Australian born Crown Princess Mary of Denmark gave birth to a healthy baby boy two weeks early.
 
The baby boy, heir to the Danish throne weighs in at a very healthy 3.5 kilograms and is 51 cm long. Mother and baby are doing well.  The babys name has not yet been disclosed however christain or frederik ( after his father) are the popular choices.
 
Traditionally new royal babies are christened at 6 weeks of age and that is when the chosen name is revealed however many suspect the christening will take place sooner as the new prince was born a good size and will grow rapidly and say that he will not fit the traditional christening gown worn by generations of the Danish Royals by the time he is 6 weeks of age.
 
Australian Mary Donaldson married Crown Prince Frederik last May after a chance meeting at the 'Slip Bar" in Sydneys Darling Harbour during the 2000 sydney Olympics.

half an hour ago 11pm tuesday 18th october sydney time Crown Pirincess Mary, Crown prince Frederik left a Copenhagen Hospital with their new baby prince. Bundled in a shawl and baby bonnet the new prince slept soundly as he was ushered into his parents car and driven home.....Prince frederik was behind the wheel and this shows what a modern royal couple they are....no nannies or bodyguards in sight.
 
we await the news of the babys name. This for all australians is a very exciting news story and I wanted to share it with you!!!

Ah...Denmark.  I visited there 20 years ago.  I remember it being a nice, clean, beautiful country with beautiful people.
