Angry Woman Uses Dead Puppy As Weapon

ST. PETERS, Mo. - A woman angry that her new puppy had died pushed her way into a dog breeders home and repeatedly hit her on the head with the dead Chihuahua, authorities said.

The 33-year-old woman told police she had taken the puppy to a veterinarian, who said it was only 4 weeks old and needed to be returned to its mother. But before she could return the puppy, it died.

Early Wednesday, the woman went to the breeders home, pushed her way inside and began fighting with the breeder as she tried to make her way to the basement to get another puppy, police said.

The breeder wrestled the woman out of her house to the front porch, where the woman then hit the breeder over the head numerous times with the dead puppy, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported, citing police.

As the woman drove away, she waved the dead puppy out of the cars sunroof and yelled threats at the breeder, police said. She later called the breeder and threatened her and her family, according to court records.

Police said they are considering felony burglary charges against woman and misdemeanor assault charges

The last I heard, they were charging her with assault with a dead weapon. Wink

It's a good thing that lady wasn't breeding Saint Bernards. She could have been killed! Shocked

(BTW, I think I need to add this to my list of things to do with dead puppies.)

Yeah, I read about this. They should both be charged. In some states it is illegal to sell a puppy under the age of 8 weeks. It should be in all of them. 3 weeks old is far too young to leave it's mother.

I agree Rhune I just can't understand why the breeder wasn't charged. Surely America has some form of "animal cruelty act" which selling an underaged pup would fall under.

The buyer of the pup certainly went overboard and I have to wonder just how much really wanted the poor little thing even if after death she too treated it very badly! I have bred Border Collies for the past few years I by law here I cannot sell them without them first being microchipped and vaccinated which no vet will do until the pups are at least 8 weeks old....most vets prefer to wait until the pup is about 12 weeks old as the microchip needle is so huge ( it scares the hell out of me) and they don't wish to traumatise such a young puppy!

Wow, I wish they would implement something like that here! If all dogs were required to be chipped, it would also save a lot of trouble and grief for petowners of missing pets too. The woman who bought the puppy obviously has anger issues, and needs an anger management course at the very least.

Microchipping of all pets is such a very valuable thing....for the small sum of $40 here you can have your pet chipped and have peace of mind knowing that should it ever be lost or injured any vet, animal shelter and the like that trace its owner!

As I mentioned by law anyone selling a pup or kitten must have it chipped and vaccinated....should you wish to just give away any pups....well that's another matter....however most people will make sure that chipping is done and will just ask a small price for any pet they may sell just to cover the cost!
