Whoa!!!!! It's good that there's enough space beneath the train. I'll try to find an article.

He said there are different depths for that area of the track.  The subway folks told him he was lucky.. it was 24" deep, the deepest they have... if it had been any of the others, they'd likely not have survived.  His two young daughters were with him, he was taking them back to their mother's home when he saw the guy having the seizure.  He and two ladies helped him on the platform and thought he was ok.  When they started walking away, they noticed he had another seizure and fell from the platform to the tracks... and there was a train coming... he tried to get him out before the train got there, but couldn't lift him with the guy having seizures (as it was basically dead weightf, since the guy couldn't help get himself out).  There came a point, he said, when he realized they were both going to be hit by the train, so he just grabbed the guy and held him and flattened out between the rails and hoped for the best.  The engineer on the train saw them and tried to stop, but couldn't... five cars passed over them before the train got stopped, and then they were under there for a while so that passengers could be offloaded before they could move the train to get them out.  They couldn't crawl out because of the electricity running thru the tracks... NOT  a good situation to be in.  The guy said he never thought of any of that, just what could he do to save them both, and that was the only place to go.  The guy was still seizing while he was trying to hold him down under the train... said he just kept praying the guy didn't push up against him and shove him up into the train.  Said he talked to him and tried to keep him calm the whole time...

It's really a miracle they're both alive!
