Reports: Britney Spears Smooches Student, Declares 'I'm a Brainiac!'
Wednesday, August 08, 2007

College student Matt Encinias, 21, an extra on Spears' latest video, told the magazine that Spears invited him and some of the other video extras to a late-night private pool party at the Standard Hotel in Los Angeles.

Spears, 25, who reportedly was drinking with the gang, then encouraged everyone to play topless truth or dare ... and Encinias ended up locking lips with the pop star.

"Britney was the first one to undress, and then everyone else followed. I turned around and saw that she was topless and she had fake tattoos of flowers on her nipples from the shoot," he said. "I was told all she wanted to do that night was kiss a boy, and that's what she did. Mission accomplished."

Although Spears was expecting her two young sons to be dropped off at her Beverly Hills home at noon (as per her custody arrangement with their father, Kevin Federline), the singer had arranged to have the pool reopened at 2 a.m. for the exclusive use of her group, which included then-assistant Shannon Funk and some hand-picked male extras from her video shoot.

“I was dared to get naked and get out of the pool and walk as though I was on a catwalk in a fashion show,” said Encinias.

Meanwhile, Spears crashed her black Mercedes into a parked station wagon in Los Angeles Monday, and then told the paparazzi, "I'm a brainiac!" the New York Post's Page Six gossip column reports.

In another blow for Britney, her new fragrance, Believe, will soon come out with someone else's tighter body on the packaging.

Spears walked out of a shoot for the perfume's ads before decent shots were taken. But that hasn't stopped Elizabeth Arden's marketing campaign for the scent.

"She looked amazing, but she left the shoot three times in a state of distress before driving away for good," the Page Six source said. "They had decent shots of her face, but not her body, so the art director made the stylist — a cute girl name Kylie Cavaco — get in Britney's clothes and pose.

"They are superimposing Britney's head on Kylie's body. Kylie has the body Brit used to have, not the one she has now."

In late April, after shaving her head and attacking a photographer's car with an umbrella, Spears did manage to get through a cover shoot for Allure's September issue.

Insiders told Page Six, "She did the cover shoot and was fabulous. She did everything they needed her to do. Everyone was saying how professional she was — but then, she never showed up for her interviews."

Women's Wear Daily reported that Spears skipped four interviews with Allure writer Judith Newman. What was originally meant as a "comeback" piece set around the time of her album release was transformed, according to the Page Six source, into a "firsthand account about every time the reporter tried in vain to do the interview."

A similar situation occurred at Spears' OK! magazine shoot last month — she reportedly walked off with $14,496 worth of merchandise, relieved herself with the bathroom door open and let her Yorkie puppy defecate on a Zac Posen gown.

Spears is reported to be hiring Jeff Kwatinetz, the talent manager recently fired by Kelly Clarkson.

She's in court this week for a custody hearing.. I never thought I'd say the kids would be better off with K-fed...but I was wrong.  I think she should lose custody of the kids.

I've been reading all of Amber's girly celebrity magazines and I have to say Britney needs to grow up a lot before having her sons. I really think K-Fed wants what is best for his children. Britney is mad that he allows the boys to see the other Spears and she broke the law when she took the boys to Las Vegas without K-Feds permission and knowledge (in the middle of custody battles the parents need permission to take the children out of state or something). She's apparently given the boys soda in their bottles and have allowed both boys to play with her cigarettes.

Then throw in all her crazy behaviour...When they first separated I thought Britney deserved the boys but now this is not the case

I'm with you Rhune.  Never in my WILDEST dreams did I think K-Fed would be the better parent.  He almost seems to have grown up a bit.  Who knows, maybe he's just doing it for the additional money he would get if he has custody, but I still think the kids would be better off iwth him.  She needs some serious jail/rehab time.  In that order.

If nothing else, he's been smart about staying out of the press and keeping his nose clean.  That Britney's own family has been in the press saying that Kevin is the more responsible parent is pretty telling, combine that with all the stuff she's been in the press doing.  My mama always says, "A boy becomes a man when he has to."  Maybe it was just his time...

Someone let her outta the house again. And she showed up to open the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.   Roll Eyes

I knew it was a trainwreck about to happen and she did not disappoint.  I'm seriously at a loss as to what is exactly wrong with this young woman.  Maybe she needs to hire me as her new publicist and stylist.

Britney bombs at the MTV Video Music Awards

Britney Spears launched her highly anticipated comeback at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, drawing ridicule by dressing up as a stripper and miming her new single.

Somewhere, Kevin Federline is laughing. An out-of-shape, out-of-touch Britney Spears delivered what was destined to be the most talked about performance of the MTV Video Music Awards — but for all the wrong reasons.

Kicking off the show Sunday night with her new single, ‘Gimme More’, Spears looked bleary and unprepared, much like her recent tabloid exploits on the streets of Los Angeles. She walked through her dance moves with little enthusiasm. She appeared to have forgotten the art of lip-synching. And, perhaps most unforgivable given her once-taut frame, she looked embarrassingly out of shape.

Even the celebrity-studded audience seemed bewildered. 50 Cent looked at Spears with a confused look on his face; Diddy, her new best friend, was expressionless.

Some comeback. Breathlessly hyped by MTV as the evening’s most anticipated performance, it became the most shockingly bad of the night. Jive Records might want to push back that Nov 13 album release date.

Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, Kanye West, Fall Out Boy and the Foo Fighters each hosted separate suite parties, where much of the show’s performances were held.

Thankfully, after Spears’ dismal start and an awkward, off-color intro by comedian Sarah Silverman, the show rebounded with several exciting performances. Timberlake’s suite was packed with revelers, alcohol and eight lingerie-clad stripper types on raised platforms. Before he accepted the Quadruple Threat of the Year award at his suite, the DJ summoned the partygoers to watch the monitor and go crazy if Timberlake won.

He did, they did, and Timberlake said: “I want to challenge MTV to play more videos!” Then he was whisked away by bodyguards and disappeared.Timberlake was the night’s big winner, with four trophies.

Meanwhile, Rihanna won the coveted Video of the Year for her metallically inspired ‘Umbrella,’ and Monster Single of the Year for her ubiquitous hit ‘Umbrella,’ and Beyonce and Shakira won Most Earthshattering Collaboration for ‘Beautiful Liar.’ Beyonce’s shimmering gold dress barely contained her top; immediately after she picked up her trophy, she asked an assistant backstage to help fix her dress, apparently to prevent a wardrobe malfunction.

Chris Brown gave one of the evening’s most extravagant performances — a dance-centric, eye-popping spectacle that channeled Michael Jackson, right down to a brief ‘Billie Jean’ imitation.

Alicia Keys had the evening’s most rousing performance, debuting her new song ‘No One’ and then an inspired, choir-backed cover of George Michael’s ‘Freedom’. Akon crooned a bit of his ‘Smack That’ before an award was announced.

Choreographed or not, Timberlake and Timbaland’s joint suite looked like the most exciting — TI, buffeted by pole dancers, delivered a rousing version of ‘Big Things Poppin’ while 50 Cent stopped by to perform ‘Ayo Technology’ with Timberlake and Timbaland. And unlike in recent years, there was plenty reason to come back for more.

It's a sad story...like a child actor who tries to keep a career going after the "cute" has worn off.  It doesn't work.  If she wants to regain her career in music, she needs to get in shape, stop the party girl routine, and work at it....work at it as a different person.  She's no longer a sexy youg thing with great dance moves.  To try to do the same things as she did while wearing even fewer clothes is just bizarre.  She's a young mom who looks like a mom.  Nothing wrong with that, but she's impersonating the young Britney...it ain't workin' girl.  She's fired or alienated all the people who cared enough about her to tell her the truth.  Like I said, it's just sad.

Personally, I dont think MTV should have asked Britney to perform. It is obvious she is a girl that needs help. I agree with Kanye West that they exploited Britney for ratings. Britney really needs help and this was not it

I understand she showed up 3 1/2 hours late with a frozen margarita in hand, and then refused to rehearse most of the stuff they were doing.  No wonder it looked like crap.  She fired her stylist and publicist, so she doesn't have them to blame.  It sounds like it's time for a little rehab and therapy (or possibly a lot).  I think you're dead on when you say she's fired all the people who were willing to stand up to her and show her what's real and what's not.
