Another Spears baby is reportedly on the way and it's not Britney's. Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old "Zoey 101" star and sister of Britney, told OK! magazine that she's pregnant and that the father is her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.

"It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected," she said. "I was in complete and total shock and so was he."

Spears is 12 weeks along and initially kept the news to herself when she learned of the pregnancy from an at-home test and subsequent doctor visit, she told the celebrity magazine, which hits stands in New York on Wednesday and the rest of the country by Friday.

What message does she want to send to other teens about premarital sex? "I definitely don't think it's something you should do; it's better to wait," she told the magazine. "But I can't be judgmental because it's a position I put myself in."

After she found out from a doctor that she was pregnant, she said, "I took two weeks to myself where I didn't tell anybody."

"Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me," she said.

Spears broke the news to her mother, Lynne, just before Thanksgiving, the magazine reported.

"She was very upset because it wasn't what she expected at all," Spears said. "A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive."

Lynne Spears, already grandmother to Britney's young sons, told the magazine: "I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."

She said her actress daughter, the telegenic heroine of her popular Nickelodeon series, has known Aldridge for years and began dating him in high school.

But in a recent interview with The Associated Press, Spears said she had no steady boyfriend. "I kind of just keep my options open," she said. "I have a bunch of friends that I always hang out with, a bunch of guy friends." She declined to talk about her older sister.

Spears spoke to the AP shortly before Thanksgiving, the day she told OK! she informed her mother about the pregnancy.

Jamie Lynn plans to raise the baby in her home state of Louisiana "so it can have a normal family life."

Nickelodeon released a statement: "We respect Jamie Lynn's decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn's well being."

A publicist for the network did not immediately respond to phone and e-mail requests for additional comment.

"Zoey 101" is scheduled to conclude its third season Jan. 4 with a cliffhanger episode in which Spears' character must decide whether to leave her fictional Pacific Coast Academy boarding school in California to join her parents in London.

The show is scheduled to resume in February, and its producer, Dan Schneider, has said filming on the fourth season has already been completed.

Am I like the only person that feels bad for her? I'm sure she recognizes what she did as a mistake and she's sorry for what she did. I just hope that she behaves in the future, unlike other celebrities who never learn from their mistakes.

Now their 16 year old daughter is pregnant.... The stress Lynne and [insert fathers name here] Spears must be going through...

I'd like to say how stupid can you be to get pregnant by accident in the 21st century. However, admittedly my pregnancy wasn't planned. But, for me it was an issue of my unwillingness to go on the birth control pill due to a prior health condition (otherwise I'd have likely been on the pill and not pregnant, but, it wasn't not planned either).... although, I'm also 23 and married.

I find it a bit ironic that she met him at Church. It concerns me the "role models" kids have nowadays. Children, teenagers, in my opinion should not be having sex. They still have so much growing up to do and so much life to explore, they don't need to worry about the possibility of becoming a parent.

But I wonder, if this may help britney come to her senses. ANd if maybe because of this baby, maybe Jamie-Lynn won't fall the same fate as her sister because by the time shes old enough to experience the drinking life she'll havea 5 year old. I dont know, maybe a lot of good can come from this?

Hmm, I don't think the parents need sympathy. I think they needed courses in proper parenting. Children don't accidentally turn out this way. When I say turn out this way, I don't mean pregnant at 16...there are many good and "normal" people that has happened to...most normal kids are experimenting with sex by the age of 16. When I say abnormal, I'm talking more about the kind of behaviour her sister is exhibiting, and the fact that Jamie's been house shopping with her 19 year old boyfriend... Even if I had gotten unexpectedly pregnant at the age of 16, my parents would have been ready to kill the 19 year old and there'd be no chance they'd have me out house shopping with him. Look back at Britney's first video and think about what kind of parents would find that as acceptable for a girl her age to be in. I suspect the only thing their parents feel sorry about is that they don't have any more cash cows to pump through the system.

My sister Julia is 18 and started dating her boyfriend issac when she was 15 and I know if she came home pregnant, neither set of parents would be apartment hunting for them...

And yes I agree about Britney. I think the Spears (and Lohan's mother) definietly liked the fame and fortune that came with it, but never really thought about the best interest of their daughter

Really, I think if the parents really wanted the best for their child, they would have pulled them out of showbiz quietly and completely and put them in a new environment where they can have some positive influences. The worst part about this is that it was so easily avoidable.

Singer Alicia Keys reportedly wants Jamie Lynn Spears, who this week announced she was pregnant at the age of just 16, to become a spokesperson for safe sex.

Alicia believes Jamie Lynn should use her unexpected pregnancy to stop other teenagers rushing into bed.

She said: "I think that maybe she can use this opportunity to talk about the ways that it's really important to have safe sex and it's difficult for teens to refrain and restrain but it's really important because it changes your whole life. It's a very serious thing."

Whatever you ask for is there.

"You can be 13. You can be nine. You can be 47. It really doesn't matter. Everything is basically handed to you on a platter.

"But the point is that it gets very hard and difficult because most of the people in the industry are very young and we are influenced easily."
