Sad times too
« on: Dec 24th, 2002, 6:45am »

Well I started to have a spot of bad luck last night.  I left some money in the bank machine - too distracted.  I hope the person who found it can put it to good use.

Then I seem to have lost my house and car keys. When I got home they were not in my coat pocket.  I can't imagine where they have gone.  I had to ring to get let in last night and get Gomez out of bed.

But then it all gets in perspective when your neighbour calls at 7:30 AM to say his wife died last night.  She had not been well and was in a seniors home.  Still it's  Christmas and this seems like alot for the family.  I think she was in her early 80's.  He is 85 and still lives on his own.   We will take over some food that he can cook easily and also flowers.  We have known them as long as we lived in our house.  They were the first people to see my daughter when I took her outside that first day after she was born.

Just needed a little hug here.  Thanks everyone.   :grouphug:

addams, I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbor.  The flowers and the meals are a wonderful thought.

I hope the spirit of the season will overlook all the unfortunate luck you had yesterday.

:grouphug:  I hope things get better over there... I've been bemoaning the last 24 hours because the flu hit our house and it sucks to be sick at Christmas, with family in town visiting, but it certainly puts things into somber perspective when this happens.  It's been many years since it happened, but my grandfather also passed away on Christmas Eve.

Thanks everyone.  That really helps.  Oh my goodness I forgot about my missing keys!  LOL  I better start looking them for me at the office.

Thank you SO Much for all the hugs and kind words.  I so needed them and I am feeling much better. Thank you!

Seems I did find that money in my Purse!! That purse is a black hole right now.  I pulled everything out and low and behold there it is in the bottom and not in my wallet as it should have been.  I think I am too distracted right now.  doesn't matter I still love Christmas.

Rhune hugs :grouphug: for your and the boys.  I hope you are all feeling better by tomorrow.  Thinking of you.

addams!  i am a little late but i wanted to say that you, your family and your neighbours are in my prayers right now.  in fact, i seem to have my share of hurting people in my thoughts lately too.  i think it's important that we remember those who won't be all merry merry this most difficult time of the year.  i too hope that your money went to a person in need.  i pray that you and your family are still able to cope without it as well.

much love,

Thanks East, those words mean alot.

You know I found the money in the bottom of my purse don't know why I dropped it there but  :dizzy: things are a bit dizzy these days.  I decided that I will give some of it to charity - when I lost it I decided not to be upset and to think that it did go to something better.  So I feel a bit guilty now having found it again.  I will treat it like found money and give some to someone needier than I.

Thanks Maggi and all.  I still haven't found my keys but haven't looked too hard.  I figure either they will show, or they won't.

My day ended with some very special news.  Just about 30 minutes before midnight I learned that a very special person I know is expecting a baby.  The cycle of life.

I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor Addams.  This story just compounds our knowledge of what a special person you are.  It makes me happy just being able to say I "know" someone so nice!

:hug:I finally took the time to read this thread.  I'm so sorry about the loss of your neighbor's wife.  I know the addams family will keep an eye out for your neighbor, he is blessed to have you.

LOL, about the found money.  Isn't it crazy how stressed we all get around the holidays?  We should all just step back and take a minute to remember what Christmas is all about and enjoy the day for what it is.  Easy to say, but not so easy to do.

I hope the lost keys have turned up by now.  If they haven't, I'm sure they will.
