Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle.

The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours."

The trait posessed by each and every young man and woman who raise their right hand and take the oath of service to PROTECT and DEFEND this Country in our Armed Forces.

There are no conscripts here, each of them volunteer to serve.  As I have said in an earlier post on a now forgotten thread, there will always be some who will sit in the middle of the bus, sit quietly and go along for the ride, and there will always be some who will  want to sit at the back of the bus and shout and scream about how the bus should be driven, but few want to get up front and actually drive.  My hat is off to our dedicated men and women of the armed forces, whichever branch they may be in.  Much has been said about our President and the administration of this Country, about how various people agree or don't agree with how things are done, gonna' be done, yadda yadda yadda.  I think it's unreasonable that ANYONE would agree with what our government does 100% of the time, but we should all set our personal interests aside and look toward what is BEST for this Country, and the FUTURE SAFETY of this Country.  THAT is why we have embarked on the path that we have in Iraq.  One only has to look at the faces of ordinary Iraqi citizens on TV, as they celebrate in the streets and tear down remnants of an evil Dictator, to see that our decision was the right one.

God Bless our brave, dedicated servicemen and women.  They have so much to be proud of.

Addams, just know that this lady loves you very much.  We've never met, never talked on the phone.  But your writings have told me much about you - that you're a straight-on straight as an arrow woman.  You're kind and sweet, a great mom, a wonderful friend.

Do you understand.......
