The day is almost over, but I couldn't let it slip by without wishing Addams and her husband a very "HAPPY NINTH ANNIVERSARY". She is missing from the boards tonight............I hope that means there is a serious private celebration going on somewhere in Toronto. Wink

thanks everyone - seems I often have memorable anniversaries.

5 years ago I was admitted to hospital on my anniversary because of complications with my pregnancy.

Yesterday that nearly 5 year old girl had a really hard day. No time to explain - and all is well. But I got one of those emergency calls from her teacher and spent the rest of the day at the children's hospitals. She is Ok now and she's a very brave little girl. It was particularly difficult because of possible SARS issues and the hospitals are running very tight. That meant only one parent was allowed to be with their child. This made it quite hard for me and my husband (he had to sit at his office for 6 hours waiting for updates).

Well never a dull moment.

Gotta run.

I'm glad to hear she is doing better...I hate those calls. I've only had one of THOSE calls so far, but every time I see his school's name on my caller ID while I know he's there, my heart sinks. Well, I guess you all will just have to set aside another day and do something special with each other for your anniversary, like most good mom's and dad's anniversary is forgotten in a moment like this.

I'm so glad that your daughter is alright. I can't imagine, with the SARS illnesses, how you handle the normal, everyday illnesses. I'd be calling the doctor everytime my child coughed or sneezed. :grouphug2:

Unfortunately the next day Kathleen's teacher called again. she was sitting in the corner holding her ear.

She was given tylenol by the teacher and seemed to improve. Both my husband and I were in meetings. I asked husband to get her early - he thought 5 PM was early enough. I didn't have the car to go and get her.

The school called again at 3 PM and I missed the message. When I got the message I left work immediately and insisted husband go with me to get her.

By the time we got her to the doctor she had a ruptured ear drum.

I feel really lousy.

That is very sad news addams. Please don't blame yourself though - about her eardrum rupturing. Wow, but your little family has been through a lot in recent weeks. I hope and pray things will turn around and that nothing but good will prevail.

Hey, don't beat yourself up over this. Parents are human and we all make a few mistakes along the way. You are a wonderful mother, Wednesday knows that and we all know it too.

Consider this as one of those "lesson learned" situations. I have more of those situations in my past than I really care to remember. Wink
