I know I should have said something but...

I didn't know what to say when Wednesday was telling me about little baby dalmations that were being born from eggs  sigh.  It was a lovely story.  The eggs were just starting to crack.
 
I was left pondering the whole concept and wondering should I say something now - but what - and we are in  a public waiting room and well I just said " you are such a cutie" and patted her back.  This is just not going to cut it in the future mz addams! ya know that don't you?
 
(Wednesday recently turned 5)

When I was little, I used to come up with wild stories all the time along this line of creative thinking, and my mother never corrected me, she just "mm hmm"ed or "wow"ed and things along that line.  When people questioned, she'd just smile and say, "Isn't she creative?"  I personally loved the way she handled that and encouraged my imagination.

No, you didn't have to say anything.  She's only 5.  Get her a kitten or puppy and let it have babies, then you don't have to explain.  I let my daughter have a cat when she was little, yes, a female one.  It had kittens and I let my son and daughter watch the birth.  They were about 8 and 10 at that time, not 5!  They were in awe and it also let me off the hook about how something is born.  At least they got the right answer by observing.  We also had the cat spayed afterward!!!!

Addams..that is just adorable!  ahhh, the innocence of a child....I just love what they can come out with. Too bad society makes them grow up so fast these days.  
 
I agree with Rhune's approach though..it was the approach my mom did with everything...I could tell her anything and always knew she was listening but realized later that she never really told me what to do or how it was to be done.  Wink
