I felt so bad

One of the aspects of what my company does is to clean up bio-hazard waste...ummm, blood bourne objects. Today we were called by an apartment owner who had found a tenet who had been deceased for at least 2 weeks. I felt bad that she had gone so long with no one checking on her.

It took us forever to iron out the details (yes sadly this is a business so we have to know who  is paying) so we won't be able to go take care of this till Thursday now.

Anyway..just so glad that I run the office and don't have to do this kind of cleaning..it is bad enough cleaning my apartment..and that can get scary enough...  LOL

Oh good Lord!  That poor person.  I'm glad you don't have to do the cleaning either Dars.

this one was natural which means it is less of a mess. We have an oral agreement with the Attorney's General Office of NH to clean up all the state homocides, suicides, etc. So we get a lot of really nasty ones. I may not actually do the work but the owners and the workers love coming back and giving me all the details of what was there soo I might as well have been there anyway...of course it is confidential info when the state is involved and we are all good about not giving out any of those details to anyone. Each one is always sad..but this one hit a little too much to home I guess since it could happen to anyone...

OOOH< Yucky Dar.  It is so sad to think that this person wasn't missed or had anyone who would know  they hadn't been seen in a while.  One of my greatest fears, as warped as it may be is to leave this world with no one noticing or giving a darn.  I know weird. Roll Eyes

I watched that in class last week.  Great movie, but I could've done without seeing Kathy Bates nude.  I imagine that it's a pretty good representation of how people feel right after retirement.

thankfully we did not have to do this job...though it was brought up as a joke today while we were eating burgers...they all had to talk about what the smell must have been like in that place in the heat...it made for a wonderful conversation at lunch time   Roll Eyes

You're so right Dar - about how death can come suddenly and that no one would know you've died for awhile.

Yesterday afternoon I stopped by the store on the way home after babysitting - this was about 2:30PM.

After I unlocked the door had barely stepped in, the doorknob slipped out of my hand - I tried to grab it because I hate slamming doors.  I have a rug (inside) and my sandal slipped under the rug as I turned.  Suddenly I started running backwards - trying to regain my balance.  The weight of the groceries seems to be pulling me back faster and I ended up slamming down hard - on my right side, especially the hip.

I remember sitting there for a second wondering how the heck did I end up so far from the front door?   I had knocked over a little marble topped table but I hit it so hard - it landed eight feet away.

If I had traveled another scant two inches - I would/could have cracked my head on the wall heating unit.  Oh well, I'm lucky to only have a bruised buttinsky and back.

OMG Wings...that is awful and yes you get my point exactly. Imagine my mom falling down those damn steps and fracturing her pelvis a month or so ago...she has gone downhill since but if she had no one around, she could barely move afterward and would have been in trouble without help...
