GASP!  Sniff, sniff, sob,  Embarassed Cry

An ENTIRE warehouse of Jim Beam Bourbon Whiskey has gone up in flames in Kentucky!!!!!  Shocked

The local Fire Department is monitoring, but it has now been burning for two days!

 . . . . Just my luck, Bourbon and water flowing freely in Kentucky . . . . . . and I'm in Virginia!  Grin

Oh No!  Not Mr. Jim Beam!  Who is next Mr. Jack Daniels, where will it stop?

Seriously, I hope they put the fire out, and the bouron will keep flowing.

I used to live in Vienna and Herndon Virginia so I know where you are coming from.

You know Quantum, it really is interesting how they make those tasty whiskeys down there in Kentucky and Tennessee.  I have had the opportunity to visit the Jack Daniels operation down in Lynchburg, Tennessee.   Fire is a real concern.  Lightning, static electricity, and other variables are always a possibility.  The folks down at Jack Daniels operate under the old princible of "don't put all your eggs in one basket".  Aging whiskey is stored in barrels stacked floor to ceiling in barn-type warehouses, MANY warehouses.   Each of these small barn type warehouses is seperated from each other, by a safe margin to prevent just the type event that occurred in Kentucky.

Bumper,

Do you have an update on the fire at the Jim Beam factory?

I hope no one was hurt.

Thanks for the info on the Jack Daniels operation, very interesting.

Quantum, I heard one of the firefighters say that they think they have it licked.  Grin :laff: :laff:

Seriously though, I am pretty sure that the fire is now out.  After they got it contained, they just decided it was best to let it burn itself out.  No one was injured in the fire.
