I did something pretty dumb today...

I took down some mail from my office to the mailbox in the lobby. I had to take my elevator and building pass with me so I could get back up (today is Saturday).

I dropped the mail AND the building pass into the mailbox Cry

DOH!

so then I was stuck with no way up, no money, no keys. yep a vagrant.

Called hubby on a pay phone from the hotel across the street. He came and got me. Called my employee and got his building pass and get myself back in here.

Now I have to see if I can get Canada Post to return the pass. Just printing up a notice now to stick on the mailbox downstairs.

I wonder if this is early senility - let's hope not. I feel so dumb.

Talk about dumb, how about coming home from a wonderful week cruise, going to your box, getting the mail, standing there to throw away the junk mail and throwing away ALL of your keys Huh

Only to finally realize this after you've searched everywhere. My husband had driven me there so I did not miss them for awhile!
Fact is, we had just moved into our new home, had bought a new car and I had to purchase that expensive key thing again! Dumb, dumb, dumb, it was! Thanksfull that was 1997 and I'm smarter now Huh

Pass update - despite my note the mail person did not return it from the box. The box is in our actual building and it only had about 20 pieces of mail.

Anyways on the back of the pass there is a guaranteed return postage address. So hopefully it will turn up!

GEEZEE..I sure hope you got this back. The worse I ever did was to leave my ATM card in the machine and it got sucked back in. What a pain that was to get back...specially since I rarely have cash on me....

My husband forgot his ATM card last year just before we were to leave on a trip. He thought we were "done for", but I called the bank and they told me to have him come back for they have a box full of ATM cards. Whew! What a relief that was for him.

at the VERY beginning of our honeymoon as we arrived at the airport (Pearson Airport in toronto) I went to the bank machine to make sure I had a little extra cash for myself or else to deposit money from the wedding gifts the day before, I can't quite recall or maybe pay a bill. Whatever. Anyways, I dropped my ATM card and did not know I had dropped it.

As we are waiting in Security we hear my name being paged over the loud speaker system. My husband looks at me wondering if we are going to make our honey moon flight. I look equally puzzled.

We had over to the announced location and there's a flight attendant holding my ATM card. She was all smiles and I was so grateful.

Then guess what!?! We got on the plane and she was our flight attendant. I mean of all the flights that go through there and she was the very one for our section of the plane.

It was Singapore airlines and we were flying to Penang Malaysia, and she sat with us a bit and told us all the great foods she loved to eat in Malaysia. It was fun later on our honey moon trying all the food and thinking of her each time. I especially remember ordering a special dish she recommended after hiking up Penang Hill.

Sometimes good comes from these little events.

Yup... gotta love those moments. A few days ago I was in Canada and was trying to make a call to the US, but my Sprint card wouldn't work! So I tried to use my credit card, but that didn't work either. So I left my entire wallet, credit card, driver's license, bank card, and everything IN THE TELEPHONE BOOTH! I couldn't believe it when I reached in my purse to try and pay for something. Luckily a good soul had returned it to the lost and found and I got it back before I had to leave for my cruise ship!

a good friend of mine locked his newborn (1 1/2 months tops) and his dog in his runnnig truck. He closed the door of the vehicle as he was running into the house for a second to get their other child, had it running to keep the baby warm, and forgot the door had an automatic locking system Shocked

luckily his mother in law lived blocks away and they were smart enough to give her a copy of all their keys

okay..I will add to this....

I hate carrying a purse...I am probably one of the few females that can't stand them and won't carry one. My once best friend was convinced she was going to convince me to though and went out and bought me a small one and made me promise to carry it. I had everything in it, credit cards, money, everything of value. I went to Walmart one day and was sooooo not used to having it that I left it in the shopping cart, drove all the way home and reached for it at home and realized it wasn't there. I panicked the whole way back (30 minute ride so it had been there an hour). It was actually still in the cart and no one had touched it in any way. That was it for me with purses..I will wear a fanny pack if I need something to carry things in..otherwise...FORGET IT...LOL.
