I am truly not scared of much as far as animals go cause I'm a huge animal lover, specially not snakes..I love them. However, I do have a funny story and it made me chuckle thinking about it so I will share.

Many years ago when I was young...LMAO..I used to have a roommate and we lived in Manchester, NH. We only had a 3 year period where we lived in an apartment that we had good neighbors. Those happened to be a bunch of young guys. They liked to party a lot and they constantly invited us out into the back yard to enjoy their food, company and spirits. They knew right away that they couldn't scare me though my roommate scared easily. So they were always playing pratical jokes on me trying to scare me. We had the best fun with those guys and I still miss them. Anyway..I digress. One weekend, I went home to Vermont and came back around midnite on Sunday. I came in the common hallway and there was this humongous beetle sitting right in front of our door. The thing had these huge pinchers on it and it was probably the size of a door knob. I immediately thought it was fake and that the guys had decided to try to scare me. So I decided I would put it on their stairs so that when they came down in the morning, they would be the ones scared. I picked it up and at first all was fine,..then the thing moved. I threw it in the air and jumped. I had a package of paper towels in my hands and I started beating the thing with them. No one saw any of this but I stupidly am too honest and told the whole building the next day. We had such a good laugh for months afterward about that...picturing Dar beating this huge disgusting beetle with a package of paper towels. They all said that the beetle was probably wondering why it was getting a massage. In the end I realized that I wasn't bothering it and I did squash it with my foot. I have never seen a beetle like that since. Anyway..that is probably the only time I have ever been scared of an animal. I don't like hornets but I am not scared of them.

ok here is my rather large list

1) I am afraid of mice

2) I am terrified of birds (dont even ask, lol)

3) I am afraid of most insects or at least weirded out by them

4) Bees really scare me, as I was attacked by a swarm of them at summer camp one time, had over 60 bee stings Sad

5) and of course snakes scare me too Roll Eyes

now, think I am psychotic enough?? Grin

sadly most people get these phobias from their friends and family. My mom has always been terrified of thunderstorms but she was the type that didn't believe in showing fear in front of us so I never knew till I was an adult and noticed her pacing one day. I never got any fear from her and love thunderstorms. I had great parents who didn't believe in showing any fear to anything so there is little that scares me...which is not always a good thing since sometimes I am too brave for my own good...

of course, you would exclude fish from my description... well... generally reptiles..

I remember one time in grade school... I had a school service.. and we have the driver and his partner to always help us... one day sat behind the front passenger seat where the driver's partner sat then he threw something in me which is long,soft and cold... at first i thought it as a toy snake (it was a common toy then here) until I noticed one end of the thing which is cut off and red... then i realized that it was a dead snake.... Shocked

I threw the thing back to him and shouted to him almost all of the foul words I've know and had goosebumps and nightmares after that... I almost strangled him in anger that day... Grin

on other animals like rats, frogs, butiki (house lizards) ... im not scared but get jumpy when they fall on me or pass by my foot... Grin
