Hey there.  Made it through the power outage but it is unpredictable right now.  It comes on and off and they say it will do this quite often for the weekend.  Not doing as well as I was as I have been helping Christine, my daughter move in and get settled and then worked at her day care as a fill in for 4 hours.  That with looking after madison and running out of hormone pills, I am a crabbie girl.  Hope your Mom is doing well Dar.  I was home but the phone runs on power and no workie without power.  Hugs to you.  Hi everyone.  I have to run as the power could drop out at anytime. BBQ is all ready if it goes.   Smiley

Cheryl - thanks for signing in.

That's another thing that not everyone knows.  If you have a cordless phone then it won't work even if the phone system is up.

Here only Bell Canada was fully reliable in the initial stages of the outages.   If you had Sprint or another compnay - no phone.

Cheryl take care of yourself in this heat.

We use cordless phones at my house, but we've had enough power outages over the years now that we keep an old corded phone as a backup, stored right next to the flashlights and candles.

Having a phone that doesn't work off electricity is a blessing.  Back years ago we had one handy - in earthquake country - you can lose power.  In Oklahoma we lost power regardless of the weather.  When I moved down the hill from Mama and Daddy, I made sure they kept "the other" phone hooked up.   Wink

Hi there everyone.  It is so nice to hear from you all.  I am sorry I haven't been around but my life has been so full right now.  I helped my daughter move to another home and then started her with unpacking for three days.  She then wanted me to help with hanging of window treatments.  In between all of that i had Madison every other day.  With all of this and then my own life on top, well I am pooped.  If I could just get you to be a little patient with me, I promise to come and play more often.  Right now, I need to catch my breath and rest a little.  My Ms is under control right now but my arms and legs are paining allot.  I know I have only myself to blame.  I just can't give into this thing and try and be as I used to but no can do. I enjoyed my evening without lights.  I just BBQ'd and then sat outside with a bottle of wine.  It was so peaceful and quiet.  I am lucky that ulike Addams, I live in a small rural area so we have no problems with transit and elevators  or skyscrappers and the likes of a big city.  I bet it was scary and from all the news from TO it sounded like it.  Guess I prattled on enough, Big waves to everyone.
