My Palawan Vacation!

Hello guys!..

I was out of the boards for a few days to give way to our Palawan Getaway!... yippee!!!  Cool Thank God He gave us a very good weather and great time there even though 3 typhoons passed through the northern tip of our country...  Let me just share my trip with you guys...Cheesy

Day 1 (Thurs):
8:30 AM we took our flight from the Manila Domestic Airport to Puerto Princesa Airport. Upon arrival, we checked-in at Airport Village Hotel where stayed during our vacation. After settling down, we went to the city proper to buy some chips, foods and drinks.  Then after lunch, we visited our companions lot there to have it measured.. She bought a lot there at a very low price...hmmm...  Then after that, we visited the Crocodile Farm and Nature Park where endemic Philippine animals can be found like the Bearcat,Palawan fresh crocs and others.. Then, we moved to another spot, the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm. It is a prison without bars where the inmates are free to roam around the farm, they toil the soil, take care of farm animals.. After that, we visited the Butterfly Garden, a small garden filled with colorful butterflies... Then, back to the hotel.
Day 2 (Fri):
8 AM we prepare ourselves for a long drive for some adventure.  We took a 2 hour long drive to Sabang crossing several mountains where we log ourselves for a permit to visit the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) with a 15 minute boatride.  It is an 8.4 Km underground river, the longest in the world. It included a guided boat tour inside the cave.. After wards, we took a short trek in the Karst Mountains, where monkeys and monitor lizards freely roam the grounds, then back again to our boat to visit another part of the park, the Mangrove Paddle Boat Tour to view the lush Mangrove forest of the park along Sabang River. Then, they let us plant a Mangrove within the park which is part of the conservation program of the city. It was a tiring but enjoyable trip and so we went back to the hotel.  At dinner, we ate at a cozy restaurant, the Chicken Inato which serve delicious food with a beautiful ambiance... then of course stayed up late to watch the TAR4 finale... I'm so glad we have a cable channel here!
Day 3 (Sat):
After that tiring trip the day before, we were now headed for the enjoying part.  We went to Honda Bay for our island hopping.  On the bay port, we logged again for registration and rented snorkeling gears. We rented a boat for island hopping which included 3 islands, the Starfish Island, an island where starfishes are all around the beach, the Snake Island, an island with long sandbars that looked like a snake from above, and Pandan Island, an island where they use pandan leaves for weaving. We snorkelled in Snake Island where there are many different species of fishes.. I even met face-to-face to Nemo.. hehehe Grin(a clown fish). Also we passed through other island but didn't docked.  These are the Bat Island, Luli Island (an island that sink at high tide), and Arreceffi Island where the now very famous Dos Palmas Resort is to be found. Dos Palmas was the resort invaded by the Abu Sayyaf in 2000 and kidnapped tourists including Gracia Burnham and was brought to Basilan, a southern island... After that tiring island tour, we visited the Viet Village, a village where Vietnamese refugees settled in the 70's I think.  we visited their buddhist temple and ate at the Viet Ville Restaurant that serves delicious Viet cuisine... yummy!
Day 4 (Sun):
Ohh... well now.. we went for less straneous activities.  We went to church at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral then visited the marketplace to buy our 'pasalubong' (something to bring home for family and friends which is part of our culture). We bought cashew nuts and dried fish which are specialties of the province. At lunch we ate at a beautiful restaurant, the Badjao Seafront Restaurant. It is restaurant situated at the banks of Sulu Sea with mangroves on its sides and facing the sea.  Sea wind blew through the restaurant and it offered a great scenery to entice your eating..Grin wow! After that back to the hotel and went out again at night to eat in a Pizzeria and take a walk in their park in front of the Provincial Capitol.
Day 5 (Mon):
Well.. it's back to Manila, back to the real world!...Grin We're back in Manila before lunch.

... and now... i'm tanner again... and back to work!

Grin
