The Stork is on his way!

Cool Cool Cool We've just received a call from the youngest son that his wife will be induced on Friday and we can expect to see the new grandson sometime Friday afternoon.  The baby is about 7 lbs now  and we aleady know his name, so just introducing ourselves to this new tyke will be exciting for us.

Since we have about an 8 hour drive, we'll probably leaving very early Friday morning or we may go to the airport and fly instead.    After all, we want to be there before he makes his entrance to this world of many wonders!

Hmmm, wonder if he'll be playing a guitar and singing by the time he's a year old Huh Huh Huh

Happy Labor Day Weekend to eveyone!  Grin Grin Grin

Hope all goes well Luci.  Take care.

By the way be sure and vigilant for that mom that the baby gets all the care it deserves over the long weekend.

My daughter was born on a friday and the poor thing was not seen again by a doctor until Monday morning at which time she has lost more than 10 percent of her body weight.  I had even asked for a doctor to come and no one came to see her.   Angry  That is my only advice about Friday births.

Please take care, drive safely and we look forward to hearing all about this new little person who will be joining us here on earth.

Thank you, I have taken note of your advice and will make sure this baby is looked after with the greatest care!
One good thing, this is a small hospital and maybe more concern is given.  I'll tell you when we get back!

Luci, how exciting.  I hope all goes well with mother and baby and that Grandma gets lots of bonding time too.  At least you won't have a blizzard to contend with like we did in February for the birth of our first grand child.  I still haven't gotten over the fact that we missed her birth.

Enjoy every minute and remember every little detail to share with us when you get home.

I was hoping we would have heard from luci by now about the baby.  I'm just an old worry-wart.  :laff:

Thank you everyone for your kind words of concern.

Colton (COLT) Stevens arrived August 29, 2003
10:00 A.M.
6 lbs. 7 ozs. - 19 inches
....and lots of curly black hair!

My apology for not being on here sooner, but we've been just heartsick for we are still in Texas and did not get to be there for his birth!  My husband's first grandson to carry on his name!
For those of you who have been in this situation will understand, those who have not, try to put yourselves in our place.
My husband's brother's wife continually intrudes herself into the lives of his children and grandchildren.  He cannot stand her and when he learned she would be there, at the hospital,  staying in the house, etc., he absolutely refused to go.
His son (the baby's Dad) told us he wished he had known this a lot earlier, for his Dad told him a lot of things he did not know about 2 weeks ago when we first learned the SIL might be there.  He wanted to know why we hadn't told him events of the past and we said because you are 8 hours away from Texas and why bother you with things you can do nothing about!  All he has ever heard is the other side!
His daughter and her 3 kids are there as well, and 2 of them will get on your nerves in 30 minutes, let alone 5 days!!!
Now here is a new Mother who went home today with a newborn and 10 people in her house!!!!  Can any of you relate to this at all?
First we can't stand the sight of the SIL, plus all these people there to really work on the nerves of a new Mother, plus her Mother is very sick with liver cancer and we're sure she would like some quality time with her daughter and the new grandson before she goes back home  to Oklahoma.  However she was planning to leave today and we're sure this sick woman has had all she can stand in the ouse!!!

We can never get back seeing this new baby moments after his birth or standing at the nursery window taking pictures.
However we are going to have quite a confrontation with the SIL when she gets back to Texas.  Her overbearing intrusion has gone on long enough and we are both boiling mad and intend for her antics to stop.  It doesn't help that the brother is also very jealous of my husband and has been all his years of growing up and likes to do whatever he can to aggravate.  Can you all believe we've tried to ignore her and the brother for 19 years, enough already!

Oh Lordy, I've been in tears and my husband has been saying words not so nice,  but we'll get through it and go see the baby a few weeks later when all the other folks who are camping out for a free weekend with comp tickets in town go home!
Again, my apology, but I've been very very down since Friday.    And my daughter took my Mom home with her until Tuesday and where are we?  Sitting home alone and feeling blue, but turning to each other!
At least we went to church this morning and said our prayers.

I guess almost everybody who has a family, understands your and MrLuci's distress.  How sad that all that prevented you from attending a glorious birth of the grandbaby.

It's sad that this new mom has to come home to a housefull too.  Ohh....I won't go there!   Lips Sealed

Just take it easy and let your blood pressures return to norm.  Just think - you just had a new grandbaby!

Thank you Wings, I appreciate your sincere thoughts on this problem.  Maybe Colt won't mind that we weren't there for his birth, but we'll sure be there for him in later times!  What matters right now is how we feel, to us anyway!  And we are very very sad..........

I know what you mean about a house full of company for a new first time Mother.  Can you just imagine that house after a weekend of freeloaders Huh  We know the ones who are there, except her folks, won't be of any help, just leaving a mess everywhere.  Mr L and I cannot take that at all!  If we were there and when we are, we will be doing something to help out!
And if we were there it sure would be hard to keep our  Lips Sealed closed!  Four of the people are 12, 10, 9 and 7, know what I meanHuh?
I just hope her nerves hold out and she does not burst into tears with a  post partum crying spell.
