Marathon bound
« on: Sep 21st, 2003, 12:30pm »

I just got in from running the Philadelphia 1/2 Marathon.  I ran the whole distance and only stopped for water (in and out  Grin).

I am now going to sign up for the full Philadelphia Marathon in November.

I have been running again for about 7 months.  Three weeks ago my running buddies, who were already in training for the Marathon, told me I could do it as well.  So I started training on the long runs with them.  A benchmark for me was today, because I vowed that I would sign up for the full Marathon if I completed the 1/2 Marathon with no problems.  I did, so it's time to sign up.  I will do so this week.

O.K., I have to ask about the hair....when did this happen?  Is Bert putting you under too much stress?  Did you just now quit coloring it?  Do tell me Dear Reset.  I just have to know.   Huh  It looks great btw.  Good luck in Philly. Cool

Why thank you, MzW.  And I don't think I've ever been called "delish" before.

Thanks CM, and yes, I stopped dying it.  I started going gray in my teens and was full gray by 40.  I had been dying it from 32 to 40, but gave up.  It was a losing battle.  :smmirk:

I like it. Grin
How long did you have to run before you were able to make it 13 miles?  I have been running for a few months now, and am only able to go 3 miles.  Is there any hope for me. Roll Eyes  Have you yet made it the whole 26 miles?  I simply cannot imagine my body making it that far...EVER.  I was just about ready to give it up, but you are inspiring me to keep it up.  Thanks, Reset.

Excellent Matt! How long did it take you? If you keep it up, your marathon time should be double plus 30 minutes or so. Chickmama's right, we should run a marathon together. I qualified for 2004 NYC marathon so sign up for that one. I would run Phildalephia with you if I weren't so pregnant. Good luck.
