We've had several cloudy days in the past week or so. Also a lot less daylight too and that seemed to happen so quickly. At this point, my depression seems back up a little. The doc will probably raise my meds again.

BUT - does anyone know what that light fixture thingy is called and where to get one? Its light is used for depressives to sit under while at rest or sitting. I don't mind taking more meds but OTOH - if I could find that light to use in conjunction with them - that would be great.

Anything anyone knows will be most helpful! Tongue

LOL, I also think it is the flourescent lightbulb that you need. If I'm wrong, get a laptop and spend the winter on the Mexican Riviera. You know Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, visit them all! That bright sun and plenty of margaritas will keep you happy! Grin

I do not like winter myself and since I now have arthritis so bad, I am dreading it very much. This year I don't think Aleve or Advil will be enough for I'm already in a lot of pain! Last winter I slept on a heating pad!

Here its called "luminotherapy lamp" so I guess for you it would be "light therapy lamp". Unless someone came up with another original name for this...

My massage therapist has one. I recall her telling me that more and more "alternate medecine persons" are having one installed in their cabinet. So maybe you could check your local phone book and make some phone call. Try with the beauty salons, (they have tanning beds, they might have this also) acupuncture places, massage salons ( legal one eh Wink

) and if they say they dont have that, ask if they would know where you could find one in your area.

At the Cologne trade fair you presented an entire project on the theme of light. The Prague exhibition is also full of light.

I love the magic of light and recently I have been very interested in luminotherapy (therapy with light), which is used for the treatment of depression. The Dornbracht company, which specialises in bathroom furnishings, holds a smaller specialised exhibition every year in Cologne. That time the theme was open. The Energizer, one of the projects I designed for it, is devoted to luminotherapy. Inside a transparent cube filled with light there is a kind of luminous body, which a person can enter. Essentially, it is a kind of advanced stage of tanning lamp from the 70s. Of course, here there is a basic difference. In this case, it is not simply about the beauty of the body. The light does not remain on the surface, but penetrates deeply into the body, into the soul, which it fills with positive energy. I wanted to send a signal that, for example, after or during a bath or shower, we can relax with the help of light.

Wings, I have seen a tv show about these lights. The one that I saw was sitting on a table top, sort of like a make-up mirror. The guy put it by his recliner, or on his table. He used it at breakfast, and while watching tv. Just a thought.
I agree with Luci, why don't we all just rent a villa somewhere and spend the winter there?

I confess that you have me totally figured out Mzwings. You are soooooooo on to my modus operandi. Now when do we depart.

About sunlight in the room, I always liked these Windows that are for rooms that don't have real windows, Let's see if I can find one over at google, one minute please ..
