Sick

Is anyone else sick?   Seems as if everyone I know has come down with sinus infections and bronchitis.  One of my coworkers came in all of last week and spread her germs around.   I hate it when ppl come to work sick.  Anyhow, I woke up yesterday morning with chest congestion and knew it was coming down.   This morning was even worse.  Least I don't have to go to the doctor.  Have a refill left on a Zpack from earlier this year.  I just called it in to the pharmacy but am too sick to drive to pick it up.  That, and Tabby has a sick left eye.  I may be imagining it, but it may be getting better.  Called the vet and told them I may be bringing her in today.  Think maybe I should just go back to bed.  Snort and cough. :headache:

I was doing well until last night.  My littlest one (the one with no immunities) is of course sick again, and this time I caught it from him.  My oldest was coughing a little this morning, but no drainage/congestion, so I'm just keeping an eye on him. My husband is not sick, but the sucker never is.  Wink

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.  Down that
Z-pac, for it sure works when I'm down and out!  Did you get a flu shot yet?  Maybe when you get wel, you might think about getting one.  After being sick for 3 years straight, I gave up and started getting the shots and haven't been sick since and that has been years now!

A lot of people around us are coughing , etc., but no one from our house and hopefully it won't happen!

Where are you located?  I don't see you on the member map.

GET BETTER SOON!

Rhune, speaking of your hubby, I know a lady up in Maine and I think you do too, who NEVER gets sick.  She didn't even know what a Zpack was.  Imagine. Never getting sick.  Maybe I should consider relocating?   hee hee.

Laugh, that would sure be nice!  In the 7 years we've been together, I can recall him having a cold twice, and he's taken a total of 1 sick day that I pretty much forced him to take.  Thank god his company went to PTO (personal time off) days instead of separate vacation and sick.

ditto Azure........what the heck is Zpack.     I've been OK but my husband is into his third week of hack, hack, hack.  Tomorrow I'm sending him back to the doctor.   I was  alarmed when the news tonight mentioned a sophomore at a high school near here died from pneumonia.  The whole school has been closed because of flu for the rest of the week.

*shrug*

(6)Which of the following antibiotics are acceptable choices for the treatment of sinusitis in a penicillin allergic patient with mild disease and no recent antibiotic use?

Zpack
Biaxin
Bactrim
Doxycycline
Cefaclor

Or: http://www.intmed.mcw.edu/ClinicConf/01-07-02%20res%20Sinusitis.htm

Yaknow - I think this med is for prevention of pneumonia.  I would get a vaccine earlier in the season and a flu injection as well.

(Just remember I'm a low-end novice at cyberspace research)

Good grief Pocket!  Has he not been to the doctor?  Neither of you (or folks our ages) need to be playing around with these kinds of diseases.

Bless you and bless Mr. P's heart!

Thanks for all of the well wishes!  I am beginning to feel semi human again.  Nice to finally take a shower after 2 days. I would never make it on Survivor. lol

A Xpack it the BEST way to go when you need antibiotics.  You only have to take it for 5 days as opposed to other antibiotics. You take 2 pills the first day and one pill for the next 4.   Only side effect is a little stomach upset.  Down here in Alabama we battle lots of allergies with rag weed and goldenrod and pollen, which thankfully is only in the spring.

Pocket, get MrP on this stuff right away.  Will clear him right up.   Smiley

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!  Not that again.  What's happened to our own natural immune systems?  My lil grandson has had a runny nose since Sept 10th or so.  Right now he's really congested again.  The doc believes it's due to teething because his temp is norm.

It's the little ones and the older ones who are so direly affected and subject to being the sickest.  I've had my flu vaccine for this season but I've never had a pnuemonia vaccine.  I've had "walking" pneumonia (supposedly) and bronchitis.  Am I a candidate for a pnuemonia vaccine?

Please - all of you get better.  I'm praying for all of you and prayers work.

(And I'm confoooooseled.  Is it "Z" or "X" pack?  I'm still in the dark on this.))
