What is the one place in the world you want to go?

I have a long list...

I have wanted to visit Florence & Venice, Italy for many years...always wanted to walk where Leonardo DaVinci walked and lived, ride in a gondola in the Venice canals.

However...I have changed my priorities and I will be visiting New Zealand this February.  A certain Masked one visited me and it is my turn to visit him.  Not a bad exchange.

Tell me where you would love to travel to and why?

Hmmmm. just about any place we've never been!  We would love to take a 2-3 week trip to Eeurope ad visit all the places we've heard about for years.  I want my husband to see al the neat things and places in London.

He worked in Australia for a month a few years ago and I had  committed myself to decorating then and could not get away.  We would like to go there and also visit New Zealand as well.  Everyone says it is beautiful.

I have this yen to visit China, not for all the places to see, but for the shopping!  Just like a woman, right?  Grin

And of course, we have to go back to Maui, the most beautiful place we've ever traveled, for it has so much to see and do all over the island!

Yep, just any ole where we haven't been!  Did you notice I didn't mention the Carribean?  We've been all over it, seen one island, seen 'em all!

However, since the Mexican Coast is close to us and closer than Maui, we do like to go there for a few days when we can and get our fill walking on the beach and kickin' the surf!  In the ocean, nope, those sharks live there and I don't go where the water is red!!!  Grin
We'll be cruising for five days the last part of January, can't wait.  We drive to Galveston and get on the ship and sail away to Mexico for a few days!  Love it!

I have always wanted to go to Mazatlan and Europe.  However, New Zealand has popped up on my list recently as well, since it's where they filmed the Lord of the Rings series and they have these neat things left from the filming like the city of the Rohan that you can actually tour in and see, and I would really love to do that!

As weird as this sounds, I've always wanted to go to Deception Island in the Antartic.  I still remember reading about it as a kid in National Geographic Magazine.

I've been lucky enough to have travelled all over this country, most of Mexico, the Carribean, and 5 countries in Asia.  I too would like to visit New Zealand.  Italy and Spain are still on my list as well.

But if I could visit one place on this planet right now, it would be Deception Island.

For Reset (turn on your sounds):

Chinstrap Penguins on volcanic Deception Island, Antarctica.  The penguin just above and to the left of center has a stone in his mouth that he will use to build a nest for his mate.

.....so beautiful!

Better spelling lately, David.  But, a simple person  -  you're not.

David, Make it a point to go to Washington D.C., and view the Smithsonian.  You'll also find there is so much to see around it.

The first time we went, I was amazed at the beauty in our Capitol, and History galore.  This should be a required subject for all student by at least at the age of 12.   Now, here we go on another topic, NOT!

When I was a kid, we used to live in Baltimore for about 6 months while my dad was in training over there.  During that time, we visited the big science museum over there, and I gotta tell ya... if you get out that way and have your family with you, don't skip it!  It's a really cool place to visit for a kid, cause it's hands on kinda exhibits and stuff.

Before I die...Ireland.  I don't know why.  "The Emerald Isle" just has a pretty ring to it.

Chick, you're so right about the Emerald Isle and that is included in our "dream" vacation to Europe for 3 weeks.  See everything we want to and get our butts back home and finally settle down, if that is possible for the two of us!

When flying over Ireland years ago, I could see the Isle from the airplane window and I can tell you it was the greenest green I've ever seen.   My daughter and her husband traveled there about 4 years ago and say it is just as beautiful as we think.  Plus, there are lots of castles to tour!

David and anyone who hasen't seen it.  The first trip to D.C., the Holocaust Museum had been open one month.  We stood in line to get our tickets for the next day and got there at 7:30 AQ.M. the next morning so we would be among the first to tour the museum and not be standing outside most of the day.
This is a must, and for those who do not believe there was a holocaust, this will convince them.

"Happy Trails"  Everyone!
