I just called the head nurse who asked Mama how it went (noting that Mama seemed rather cheery and not the least bit groggy). Mama told her they had undressed her, put her in a gown and was sitting on the table about to drink some "white stuff", when another person came in and said the procedure was cancelled and would have to be scheduled for another time.

Uhhh - something's wrong with this picture. The nurse told me she'll call the doc and I should call back around 2:30PM for more info.

Right now I'm Angry

Seems that the doctor's office screwed up - royally. Mama was supposed to have had a consult with the surgeon this morning. At that point the date for the upper GI would have been settled.

One thing that tells me, is that if she's bleeding inside, it must not be all that life-threatening. *shrug* Anyway, the headnurse apparently had some heads rolling and is in process of starting at square-one to get this done. Mama may tell them flat out NO because of what happened.

I spoke with Mama a little while ago and she sounded absolutely awful - distressed and weak.

Welcome to Canada Wings. Sadly, this kind of things happens frequently, here in Quebec at least, I dont know for the rest of Canada. And here its not the doctor's office messing up, its the whole health system that is messed up.

I hope everything goes as well as possible.
