Family Christmas Traditions

Does your family have a special tradition?  If so, tell us.

My Mother has a fruitcake recipe that she thinks has to be baked each year.  No, it isn't the usual candied fruits, only has mincemeat in it and a caramel icing, but she has to have one baked by each year.  Now I bake it, and guess what, this one is eaten!

We alternate years and if it is our year on Christmas Eve, we always have something different to eat, like Mexican food or Italian.

Hmmm, looks like any tradition we have has to do with food!

The only tradition we have is that my mom comes to visit and we go see as many films at the theatre as we can.  With no family in town it's hard to get a babysitter, so I tend to hold out till my mom gets here and then watch a ton.  Grin

Our Christmas tradition includes drinking Baileys while opening gifts. Needless to say,  I have a tendency to like the gifts that I open last the best at the time. I think that this started as a cure for the Christmas Eve parties. Smiley
