Dad is in the recovery room

My dad is out of surgery and in the recovery room. That's all the news for now really.  They got everything.  So that is wonderful news.

There is some speculation by the surgeon that what they found is not a tumour.  Dad seems to have a congenital something or other (see short on details here lol) and they have sent the growth off to pathology.  I will wait for the path report before getting my hopes up.

Also if that is the case, they said they will start the bladder cancer treatments right away.  It's a bit confused for me so I will try to clarify later.

For now I am very happy that this part is over and we are moving into the recovery for his surgery.  Keep your prayers please.  Dad has a high risk of stroke still because of his pre-existing conditions.

Small rant here:   both of my sisters who are in the same city as my mother have been no where to be found this morning. I am astonished by this. Mom called me and said that she was at the hospital all alone all morning and is now home for lunch, alone and can't get hold of my sisters.

my one sister promised me she would be there for mom. So I relied on her promise.

Well we are going home on Wednesday afternoon and will be there only to do whatever mom needs us to do for 4 days.  Cook, clean, drive, open the store, buy things, install safety devices.  Whatever they need we are going to be there 100 percent for them when we are home.

:furious:  Shame! Shame! Shame on them, addams!  Angry
I feel so bad for your mom.   I wonder what excuse they will come up with.  The only acceptable one would be that they had an accident (God forbid) and were in ER.  "I forgot" just won't get it.  Thank God for you!  A good daughter who will keep her word come, Hell or High Water.

I'm thrilled with what you said about the surgery AND the fact he's already out of Recovery.  I hope they keep very close tabs on his stats - I'm sure they will.

Prayers are still coming.  You just try to take care of yourself too.   Tongue

Wonderful news over all!  I bet you are feeling all that stress and physical tension that you didn't realize had built up in your body so badly over the last month, leaving...it's almost like you finally relax and it feels like you go limp and just melt, because you have been so tense and rigid for so long without realizing it...

That's wonderful news addams.  I'll keep praying that whatever was on the kidney was the congenital thing and not a tumor.  If that is the case, the bladder cancer should be very treatable.  I'm so relieved that he is through the surgery.

Now, for those sisters of yours.................. :steamed: :censored: :whip:!  Your poor mom, I can't imagine waiting through that surgery all alone.  What were they thinking?  Okay, sorry, but I just couldn't keep quiet about that.

Now it's time for you to take a deep breath and offer a prayer of thanks that your dad has made it through the surgery.  Here's a big Irish hug just for you.  (((((((C)))))))

Good News, Addams!  I'm so happy for your family and Dad the surgery is over.  You'll be ther when they need someone the most, which will be when he comes home.

As for your sisters, well it isn't printable!  There are some good things about being the only child, not many, but some....

You are one great daughter!
Blessings to you........

I'm happy to hear the surgery was successful.  Thank goodness you will be able to give your mom back her faith that she's raised her daughters well.  We are blessed to know you Addams.

dad is resting. there are some mixed messages and I am still waiting for pathology reports. We will know more in the next few days.   From what my sister told me on the phone I am not encouraged about extent of the bladder cancer.  But I will wait for the medical reports.

I spoke with sister number 1 and she had no particularly good reason for not going. She blamed mom for not calling her. right. Says if mom didn't call then she didn't need her to be there. Wonder what fantasy sister number 2 is living. Sorry - I am so annoyed.

Like I said before - there would be only ONE excuse for the reason they weren't there.  You tell Sis#1, this wasn't a party where an invitation needed to be sent.
Sister#2 - Does she live at Michael Jackson's Neverland.

Please note I "struck" your apology

The confusing or mixed messages you're receiving are so bloody typical.  Is there some way you could be put in contact with your dad's doc?

You hang in there, baby!  We're here for you as per usual.  I won't tell you not to worry until the reports are released to the family.  I'm a huge worrywart.

In the meantime - back down I go to my calloused knees for more prayers.  Please - you must rest so that you can resume tomorrow!   Tongue

I would appreciate that and you know what?  I think we should get some kneepads, too.  :laff:

Having been there time after time with both my parents, it's akin to  Undecided - but in the long run, totally worth it as opposed to those "mixed messages".

Hang in there, baby!  I continue to pray for a swift and happy prognosis.
