It sure can be!  I just read your post about your ski trip today, wonderful!
Those little ones can outrun all of us oldies on the ski trails.  We love to watch the lessons when they are learning, fr they are so cute, have no fear!  After all, they are lower to the ground.  She'll be ready for the oguls before the snow melts.
Ok Mom, don't have a heart attack.

Say, has she lost that other front tooth yet?  I sent you a pic of my little sweetie grand daughter for she and your daughter are the same age.  In the pic, her two are half way back in!  There is also another pic of her if you slide the bar over, for I did not know it would scan so large and am not used to this new combinatin of scanner, printer & copier.

Think of me when you're on that ski slope next weekend and I'll think of you when we're on the beach.

Want some vanilla?  I'll bring a lot of it back if I know how many........
For those of you who have never used vanlla from Mexico, it is wonderful and now I do not lke to use the other for this is 100%, really!

Did you know the cruise lines have started a 7 day cruise from Galveston now?  We wish wse had known this before we booked this 5 day one, Grrrr.  Oh well, maybe we can go again for some high school friends want to get together and go on a cruise soon.
Have a great week everyone!
Bon Voyage!

Luci thanks for the pic by the way.  they are such cuties.

She's still only missing one tooth so far.  But she shows the gap to everyone LOL

Yes she will be skiing way ahead of us in no time I expect.  We are blessed with an excellent friend to help teach us.

We are booked to go most Sunday's this winter.  That doesn't make us very good church goers but it is lots of fun.

I am fully stocked on Vanilla I get from Haiti.  It's wonderful to have the real thing fresh from the source.  Enjoy your trip.

Other than it was wonderful!  We drove to Galveston, spent the night at the Hotel Galvez, were shuittled to the ship the next morning and sailed away........................

Yes, we had a super fantablous week together!  We will count the days until we sail away again.................... :cloud9:  :lovestruck:

It is a fantastic getaway for a couple.  Unless you hate each other, you cannot help but become more close than before you left home.  What is so great for us is that we are already a very close connected couple.  So what's not to love about a relaxed cruise?

And of course, we met some very nice people fronm several states and enjoyed our dinner couples as well.

We met a lot of Kansas couples, they all were there compliments of a seed company, for they all have very large farms.  Also some were from South Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Canada.

Addams, have you not cruised?  You either love it or don't care for it at all.  It took Mr.  L seven years to talk me into cruisin'!  What a dumb blonde I as Roll Eyes

What both of us fail to understand is why folks take very small children and even their baby on a cruise.  It is soooo important to have couple time together without the children.  Never would we take a 2yr and 8 mo old on a cruise or any vacation, but that's us!

Different strokes!

P.S.  I will add that we made it our promise to each other to NOT discuss renter problems, our upcoming lawsuit or even my Mother!  A very positive trip!

I failed to mention we had onboard ship days and docked in Cozumel, Calica and also Playa del Carmen.
Beisdes Maui, this is our second favorite place and easy to get to for us, since it leaves from Galveston.

Upon arriving in Galveston, we checked into our hotel, had a fantastic seafood dinner.  We had an after dinner drink in the bar, listened to the great piano player, who played  the baby grand in the lobby bar for hours.   We went back to our room and crashed so we would be up early and on the ship where the action is happening full blast as cruisers come onboard.

Dressed for dinner, then went to the show and finally crashed around midnight!

It is totally impossible to be hungry when they serve a midnight dinner!  However, it is worth staying up to see all their wondrous works with food at the Grand Gala Buffet, which is usually around midnight around the middle of the cruise week.

Onboard, they have and had some good specials on liquor as 2 for something.  Of course Mr L had to restock the Crown and I wanted Baileys.  So it was a bargain for us.
The gift shop always has good buys on perfumes, (so I picked up a couple of favorite fragrances that I'm running low on), t-shirts and other items as well.  My daughter's birthday is Saturday so I purchased a Tara Vanessa embroidered shirt for her, one for Mom and of course, one for myself! Grin  The price is reasonable and they are embroidered so beautifully!

In Cozumel we went shopping for vanilla, and silver.  Silver is plentiful there and they do have good prices, but will not bargain much anymore.
Someone has told them what they have!  And also, since the USA opened up more trade and factories moved there, our (USA) bargaining power is not as good as in the past.  Anyway, it is fun to shop there and emnjoy the ambiance they have for us tourists.
About mid way of our shopping fun, Mr L bought a margarita and  asked me if I'd like one also, but of course!  Those bar tenders believe in tequila!  Only a third of my glass gone, I could feel it quickly!  Wow! one more and he would have had to carry me back to the ship!

The next day we docked in Calica and taxied to Playa Del Carmen for a day at the beach,
WINGS, where were you?  I looked at every topless lady on the beach and did not see you anywhere!

We all shopped a bit more on the way to our taxi.  Not that any of us need another t-shirt but it is fun to bargain with the people, and they have a good time with us as well.

Back on the ship, we were on deck for some sun and to watch the last of the cruisers run to the ship, as to not get left.  It was so funny seeing the taxis fly down the dirt road to make it on time.  (It is a new port, so all is not totally complete as far as finished roads go.)  We would have been so embarrassed to be late and have ships decks of folks howling with laughter as we chased to the gangplank.  They did not seem to notice and so what, they will never see any of us again anyway!  So if one makes a fool of themselves doing some of their funny, crazy stunts, so what?

Another fun filled day at sea, staying up past midnight and ready to disembark by 9 A.M.  We both just wanted to stay onboard and sail away again to someplace new!

Last night, we crashed and sleeep is go great in your own bed with your own pillow.  You do not sleep a lot on a cruise for there is so much you'll miss.

Ok ya'll, that's my cruise report for the time being.
Start planning yours today, rates are great!

Thankfully, Disney understands why people would want to take their children on vacations with them.  The kids get so much out of an experience like that.  Maybe not 8mo old or 2 years, but the 4's and 11's do.

I'll just wait until my kids no longer enjoy going with me on vacation to start doing it without them.

CM, Disney is great for families as well they should be since this is their business.  All of our family went to Disneyworld together and had the most fun time.  We all were there for my son's wedding and what a great time for all of us to enjoy a vacation at Disneyworld together.
Our grandson would be 3 in a few days, so my daughter made reservations for Winnie the Poo Breakfast.  Well, it cost us about $20.00 each for pancakes but the Poo characters were there and he loved hugging Poo, Tigger and Eyore.  What a happy little boy!

We all got into the car for a day at Epcot, my daughter then turned to our little grandson and said, "who did you have breakfast with today?"  He did not miss a beat and said "Papa!"  We all howled at this after spending all this money on a simple breakfast and of course my husband loved the answer.  There are some cute things grandchildren say that you write down in a memory book.

My daughter & SIL was going to take a cruise with all of the children as well, ages 3, 7 and 9 yrs old.  I suggested they take them to Fiesta Texas or SixFlags and save that money for when they are older.  Kids do not care, just so they are having fun and it does not take all this expensive vacation for them at early ages.
Besides I did not want my grandchildren left in a crujse ship day care while they toured the ports.  Overprotective?   Yes!

My point is that ALL couples need time together with none of the children around.  A vacation for a couple alone will make their marriage stronger.
Being one who knows, no time for togetherness without the kids will ruin a marriage quick.  Everyone has to walk to the tune of their own drummer, but I know this to be true!

Couples, if you can get away for a weekend alone, do it!
Even if it's at the local motel!

I'm just not one of those mom's who leave their 18 month old baby at home while I"m out having a good time.  Personally for me, I would be so concerned about him that I wouldn't enjoy it.  I know this from past experience.  The last time I spent 3 nights away, Kaci was 2 1/2.  We were in Las Vegas, adn I just walked around the shops buying things for her.  I realize that for some people it's no big deal, but for me it is.  I can remember the first time that my parents went on a vacation without me, I was 13 adn didn't want to go with them, preferring instead summer camp.  The years slip away so quickly while your babies are babies.  I can wait.

Besides that, if you've never owned a farm, you can't appreciate how hard it is to take a weekend off.  You don't notify your boss that you are going to need off the next week.  Things like that just aren't possible.  We don't get to both get away from here even once a year.  If I waited for that to happen I'd be waiting a really long time.  You would just have to be in my shoes to understand.  We'll just have to make the most of our together time, right here on the farm.  I'm pretty resourceful, it can be done.
