My sweet boy Wings, crossed over that Rainbow Bridge this afternoon about 1PM Central.

He had been fairly quiet for a couple of days, not really eating or drinking - no sneezing or coughing or diarhea. This morning he began fading fast. No pain. I held him for hours - 'til the end.

I'm sooo gonna miss you, little guy. You were a wonderful bud for nearly 15 years. And in the Springtime, we'll find the perfect resting place for your little body. But for now, your sweet little spirit is soaring anew.

Thanks for all your kind words. Wing's absence has left a big hole in my life. But like I told Addams, he wasn't suffering - otherwise I would have taken him to the vet to be put down.

So he's flying free now....as K-A said. It's so quiet now. But I swear I hear him singing and whistling and talking. I loved him so much - he brought happiness to my life and I did to him too.

I was supposed to get to Deb's to babysit but I called her back about 11AM, telling her I had to stay with Wings I couldn't leave him in his last hour. She totally understood and agreed that of course I should.

I'm sure Nuisance was there to meet him and take him over the bridge. He was so good with all the animals that I ever had and had a heart of gold. I know you loved Wings as much and I wish I could tell you that the pain goes away but I wonder sometimes if it ever really does. I'm just thankful that like Nuisance, you were able to be there for him so he didn't die alone. I think they truly need that as much as a human.

our Shih Tzu of ten lovng, faithful years. We were his life and we loved him as much as he loved us. I get sad from time to time and say I'm getting another one. Mr says "NO", for then we would need two baby sitters,one for the puppy and one for Mother. (Good point!) So glad to have his pictures and our memories of what he meant to our life. Tongue

You are all so wonderful to show so much support at this time. This is a tough time - in some ways, harder than I thought, yet in other ways, easier simply because he hadn't suffered (or I hope to God he didn't) for a long period.

It's different around here. When Wings was abed, I had to be careful not to turn on lights otherwise, he'd hiss and fuss. Same in the mornings - he wanted to wake up when he wanted. He'd angrily say "what are you doin'?" I'd say back to him "ok ok" which would be received with a hiss which sounded sometimes like "shhhh".

Most of us have had a beloved "other" family member(s) who passed - many of us still think of them. Debbie told me this morning occassionally she "thinks" she sees (her wonderful cat) Buddy walking up the hall of peeking around a corner.

Anyway - I have my memories and I have videos of him too. He had a "date" when he was about two. That's the funniest tape and one I should probably send to America's Funniest Home videos.

I love you all so much and thank you for all those pm's and em's. I promise I'll answer soon. Now....I have to go warm up the car and dig off some of the newly fallen snow, and get over to Deb's. Kiss

(For a couple who were curious where Wings is - just know he's elegantly wrapped and being preserved until Springtime. I'm taking him with me this morning to Deb's. She has a huge freezer downstairs as opposed to mine.
