The Amber Alert bar

I have to say that my heart just stops everytime I see that the Amber Alert bars up at the top of this page are yellow.
 
Obviously, the US has a larger population than Canada and that bar seems to be yellow quite often.  I click on it and go and read about the abduction and more often than not it's within a family but that doesn't make it any less distressing.
 
The Canadian bar is yellow this morning because a woman smuggled her baby out of the hospital.  From what I've read they think the mother could be drug addicted and the baby may have health issues.  She was probably worried that she was going to lose the child.
 
I don't know why more pages on the net don't have these bars.  Before I came here I had never seen them before.  Now that I know they exist, I can fathom why popular websites like Yahoo or MSN don't carry them?  Think of all the people they could reach?  Kudos to Metropolis for having them here.

Thank you.  As a mother of little children, it was something I felt very strongly about and when I found a means to bring them to our site, I jumped on it.  From time to time their banner causes some slow down in loading our page, but it's still been worth it to me.  Heck, one of the amber alert children listed was even spotted at a gas station near me, it wasn't me that spotted her but she was recovered safely as a result, and so I think it was that case in particular that brought home to me that seeing them on here could actually save a child at some point.
