An Amber Alert is something that is issued when a child has been kidnapped or missing and presumed in danger.

Just noticed that one amber alert has already dropped off and the child recovered safely!  Cool

It's the stuff at the top that is scrolling bars.  If they are white there are no Amber Alerts outstanding.  If they are yellow, that means an alert is active and a child is taken/missing.

Probably, I would click the link through and on their page they have instructions on how to add it to a site.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Authorities found an 1-month-old boy Wednesday in Kansas City who they said had been abducted, and they took a man and a woman into custody.

Jesse A. Peaster's 4-year-old brother told authorities that a man and a woman came into his Benton County, Mo., home and took the baby from his crib at about 10 a.m., authorities said.

The baby's mother, Nancy Peaster, was in the basement on a treadmill at the time.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for Jesse, releasing information about the case and his photo, and KCTV5's Betsy Webster reported live on "KCTV5 News at 5 p.m." that an anonymous call to 911 led them to the baby.

She said the caller reported seeing a baby they hadn't seen before in a house near East 28th Street and Brighton Avenue in Kansas City.

Police found a woman with a baby about the same age as Jesse there and questioned her. They said she couldn't answer a lot of their questions.

A man showed up later, and police took them both into custody.

The baby went to a hospital to be checked out and have its footprints taken to confirm that it was Jesse, Betsy said.

He appeared to be fine, she said.

The family got the news that he'd been found safe just before 4 p.m., KCTV5's Sandra Olivas reported live from their home on "KCTV5 News at 5 p.m."

"We don't even know how to express it we're so thankful," said Jake Peaster, Jesse's father. "We had just an awesome response. We had the Sheriff, and the Highway Patrol and everybody just instantly here, and things happened. I mean, it was quick."

The family said prayer sustained them in the hours their son was missing.

"He and I prayed immediately, even before we called 911, and we both felt frantic, of course, and I just, somehow, I guess I felt pretty calm, and I just think that it was the Lord, you know, that was there all day with us, because by ourselves, we would have been beside ourselves," Nancy Peaster said.

Sandra asked the family if they knew the man and woman police took into custody, and they said they didn't know any of the details, and they were just concerned with getting to Kansas City and being reunited with their baby.
