We Need Your Help!

Phoenix Point of Pride Contest
VOTE FOR PAPPAS at www.pride.azcentral.com
We are very excited to announce:
Phoenix Thomas J. Pappas School is one of ten finalists in the Phoenix Points of Pride Award Contest!
Seventy sites applied of which 10 were selected as finalists. This contest runs through March 12th.  The winner/s will be notified in April.
• Anyone can vote, even the students!
• You do not need to live in Phoenix or in Arizona to vote!
• Please cast your vote for Pappas and help us win the honor of a Phoenix Points of Pride sign on their campus!
• Spread the word so we can secure as many votes as possible!

Thank you so much for your participation and support for one of our schools in our District!

The Thomas J. Pappas School was founded in 1989. In its early existence there were only 8 children and the school was held at a shelter. Soon it became obvious there were going to be more children, and needed to move to other locations in the downtown Phoenix area. In 1990, Dr. Sandra E. Dowling started the Thomas J. Pappas School in a renovated car dealership, where we remained for 6 years.  In 1997, the new Pappas School was built for children Kindergarten through 5th grade. The old location is now the Pappas Jr. High and High School.

Our Mission
The mission of Thomas J. Pappas school is to develop within all students the leadership qualities to fulfill their roles as responsible citizens of a changing world. We provide an equitable education that promotes inquiry, positive decision-making, effective communication, cultural appreciation, and life long learning experiences. We provide enrichment opportunites to curtail homelessness.

It is my favorite cause here locally. Every year we buy backpacks and stuff them with school supplies and personal hygiene products and deliver them to the school just prior to the start of the school year. I also perform maintenance on their medical equipment in the nurses office. I am totally selfish in doing this because it makes me feel so darn good! The government has tried on a number of occasions to try and shut them down yet they continue to prosper. Here's to the Thomas J. Pappas school staff, volunteers and students  Cool Cool Cool
