Good News for a Change

You have all been so supportive in the past when I have posted about the problems with my parents.  I haven't shared an update about them for a while and I'm happy to report they are holding their own right now.
 
The real reason for this thread is that I have an announcement to make.  My youngest daughter and her boyfriend have decided to take their relationship to the next level and get married.  Tongue Tongue  One evening last week the boyfriend paid us a visit.  He came alone to ask our permission to ask our daughter to marry him.  I didn't know anyone still did that and Mr. Irish and I were quite impressed that he did that.  We thought it was very respectful and traditional.  The only bad part was that we had to keep the secret until he "popped the question" on Friday.  They went to Florida last year and while they were there they swam with the manatees.  D said that is when he knew that he wanted to marry M.  They went back to Florida late last week and he asked her to marry him while they were, again, swimming with the manatees.  She said "YES".  So now we have a wedding to plan, something fun for a change.  I am so ready for something other than "elder care" to take up part of my life.

I had the pleasure of meeting this couple when they were in Toronto at the end of December.  They are a wonderful couple and he really does adore Irish lass's daughter.

What a wonderful thing - so romantic.   A new thing to look forward to.  
 
Any dates in mind yet?  Sweets!  Just don't work too hard on this - not what with everything you've got going on.  Wow....this is exciting!
